it's quite far from all the restaurants and all the onsen but they got facilities to send you guys to visit all places around kinosaki. this shuttle car service start at 4pm. They provide the yukata as well with the traditional japanese sandal (getta) to wear to walk around to the city. quite far from the train station but luckily the tourist information service there provides free shuttle bus to this place. Even quite far from other places, but we love to stay here. If you guys like walking like us, you guys will pass by the tunnel as shortcut from the hotel to city. the breakfast experience is so cool for the food and setting. they provides us private room to enjoy the breakfast.

The hotel is far away from the hot spring area, but there is a special shuttle bus to the hot spring area from 4 to 10 pm every afternoon. The food for dinner and breakfast is rich and delicious. The waiters are from Taiwan and Guangzhou and have good communication skills.

The whole hotel feels very comfortable, and the service is very attentive. The hotel comes with a yukata and straps, which are very comfortable to wear when taking a bath in the outdoor bath. The breakfast and dinner for one stay and two meals are very delicious, exquisite and delicious😋I also met several ********* students who are interning in the hotel. If I have the chance, I will go there again

The most impressive part of my trip to Japan was that I lived on tatami and slept very comfortably. There is Chinese service at the front desk, dinner is a set meal, and the crab legs are so delicious! ! Great value, folks. There was a lovely Japanese aunt during the meal. Her service attitude was very good and very friendly. I'm sorry that I couldn't fully understand her because of the language barrier, so I want to give her special praise here! by the way, the American brother I met when we went was also very nice, he helped us carry our luggage, thank you so much, I hope they can see it hahahaha

I have been eating for so many days, and I feel that the dinner set meal here is better, the beef is authentic, the crabs are more, and the rice is absolutely delicious. This store has Chinese service at the front desk and restaurant, which is great!

In this place you can experience the ryokan experience for an affordable price, uncomparable to that of the more established, and pricy, ryokans in Kinosaki Onsen. For this very reason, it is packed with Japanese and many western tourists, including families and groups of young men. And so, while the team takes extra care to service the guests (including by providing shuttle services around town, free beer and tea etc.), I found it hard to truly enjoy the charm of the place - including a lovely Japanese garden and private onsen - with that many noisy westerners around. In general, I find that an influx of western tourists has chipped away at much of the charm of Kinosaki Onsen

Japan was really like my comfort place, i usually visit 2-3 times a year and generally feel like the people and the environment is safe and pleasant. I visited the hotel with my family (a group of 9 people) , we stayed for one night in room 212 / 213 /215. On the day we were checking out , I was packing all our stuff and put my Jacket that i was gonna wear on the hanger in the room closet as i was rushing my stuff down to the lobby since our room is in the second floor with no elevator. I left hotel while forgot that i was not with my jacket on since we spent the whole day in the car -- By the time i notice that i forgot my jacket it was already in evening time as i rush to hotel to tell them. The hotel staff gave me a straight NO !! and does not seems to feel eager about my jacket. Since this Jacket was a pass on piece from my grandpa to my dad and then to me , i was really trying to call them for another 5-8 times to catch on to it and numerous emails were made. As hotel just claim that the staff never saw it , but i just put it in the room hanger myself that really morning , i knowww the Jacket was there!! but something probably happen to it. Just felt super sad, it was a sentimental piece to me and my dad and it mean so much to us. I felt this experience really gave me a whole new perspective on Japan ! And did not expect hotel and staff to be this unhelpful and thoughtlessly like this . This hotel is the biggest disappointing service mind in my experience.

When I mapped out our November-December 2023 trip to Japan last June, I chose west of Kansai region and the northwest along the Sea of Japan where Kansai Wide Area 5-day Pass and Sanyo/San’in Area 7-day Pass would cover. When I came across Kinosaki on the map, I thought this would be the first place to begin our journey of “off the beaten path” (this was my 10th trip to Japan, my desire to travel off the beaten path was obvious.) Since Kinosaki is an onsen town, it makes sense to choose a traditional ryokan with on-site onsen. I found Onishiya Suishoen’s official website very helpful. The photos are genuinely impressive. It has all I was looking for: daily 10-course Kaiseki dinner with premium choices of Matsuba crabs, Tajima beef and local delicacies, along with traditional Japanese breakfast, can be served in-room or in a private dining room; indoor/outdoor onsen; a quiet guest room for two, with private garden views; free shuttle from the JR Kinosaki station; an entertainment lounge; a public sitting lounge with views of scenic Japanese garden; away from the busy tourist center. A free day-stamped pass to use in town’s seven historical public onsens, valid per day from 14:00 to 15:00 the following day; a daily shuttle offers to and from main area of Kinosaki town, from 16:00 to 22:00. These are extra bonus offers to the guests. The guest car parking is available. We arrived at the Kinosaki JR Station on a rainy day. After exiting the station I found the sign of hotels free shuttle across the street just as I was informed at the time of booking. A local coordinator was waiting outside the station and started taking names of the arriving guests. I gave her our hotel’s name and after about 10-15 min waiting we boarded a van and headed to the local hotels. Interestedly, most of the guests in the van are foreigners like we, all got off the last stop. Upon checked in we were told to leave our luggage at the front lobby area. We then followed the hostess to the public lounge waiting for an assigned staff to accompany us to the room and to get familiar with what they have to offer during the stays. When I booked this ryokan I asked for a quiet room and surely our room is at the end of the first floor hallway. During our two-night stay we had a personal hostess named Chiba. She catered our needs for the entire stay, served two meals a days, prepared beddings and replenished in-room services for us. On the second night she noticed we were trying to stack several cushions over the leg-less chairs to improve the posture comforts. She asked if we would prefer regular chairs and a raised table. When we said yes, she quickly popped up the table legs and brought us two chairs. We were so pleased with her attention to details. She did her best in English, explained our daily meal options and introduced each serving plate and sources of the ingredients. She was a very good hostess for us. On the first night we had seafood Kaiseki dinner with premium selec

This was a must for us as we are a family with tattoos and most Onsen don’t allow them but this whole town has embraced visitors, no matter their appearance. They Onsen experience is a fantastic immersion into Japanese culture and it’s wonderful to wander the beautiful streets in a comfy robe, sipping into all the hot spring pools.

A wonderful place to stay while visiting a charming onsen town. Hospitality of the staff is superb, and shuttle service provides easy access to the public baths in town. My room was very clean and comfortable but I did not like the pillow I had with my futon. Dining experience was also terrific. I had a snow crab dinner and it was very excellent. Overall, I loved staying here so much that I would want to visit Kinosakionsen again in the future primarily to stay in Suishoen again.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are so lovely, warm and welcoming! The rooms were beautiful and big with very comfortable futons. Loved the onsen too!

Love the outdoor onsen and the garden view from my room. Dinner was memorable, especially the kinosaki snow crab. Our server was a bubbly girl who gave us descriptive explanations of the food we were eating. Pity we didn’t get her name.
