First trip to Cyprus. Booked an Easter break with my daughter as the rest of the family busy with work commitments. I don't usually write hotel of holiday review but thought I'd try and give a fair reflection of our week away. Arrived at Paphos Airport after a 5 hour flight, passports and luggage collection was a bit slow to say the least. If you have ever been to a Greek Island I found the roads in Cyprus about the same so the transfer again wasn't the swiftest but we did get to the Theo Sunset and the driver was helpful and friendly. There wasn't much of the day left but pleased to say when we arrived reception was quiet, staff really friendly and efficient so within 10 minutes we made it to our room. The brochure said side sea view? We were on the ground floor and you could just about make out the sea through the building work at another hotel as the Theo Sunset is set one row further back. Cases partly unpacked we had a wonder around before the evening buffet meal in the restaurant on the upper floor. Once out by the swimming pools we found the views much better, if you cut through the back of the hotel and go between the building you are soon on the coastal path which is excellent and well worth walking along. My Daughter and I found the buffet restaurant fine, my Daughter isn't very adventurous but we found something for breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Twice she ordered from the snack menu at the bar and skipped lunch as she preferred this option. Alot of fresh salad, sauces and a selection on Greek based foods. I'll try anything, if you don't like something try another option because we found enough selections. If you want egg and chips or burgers then maybe not for you, so try Blackpool. We found the restaurant and bar staff really friendly and efficient. We happened to be at the Hotel whilst there was an Official public holiday in Cyprus so it did get quite busy but no problem for the staff, they remained calm and efficient. Our room was clean and tidy, towels changed every 2 days but room cleaned everyday and beds made up. I read in one review about ants. We did have some ants on the outside patio, bolied the kettle and get rid with hot water, job done. I found Taxi quite expensive and also wasn't sure where he was going even though I had the destination on Google maps. Rest of the week used buses, suggest all day pass so you if you miss a stop or need a connection just jump on another bus. Weather was great (can't blame anyone if it rains, luck of the draw) and sun loungers easy to get. Swimming pools clean but they are a bit chilly. My daughter used the SPA for one treatment, probably not a Hoar Cross Hall but she was happy enough with the staff and the treatment. Overall we had a pleasant stay. Would we go again, probably but we do like to visit different places so maybe in a year or so.
