Hotel Goldener Anker

Bayreuth|1.76km from Rondell - Universität Bayreuth
1. Reservation; the first time appearing young woman on the phone, who, possibly due to inexperience and/or language problems even after multiple attempts, also with letters of our name our concern ( booking of a room + garage space ) could confirm:” tomorrow you received a reservation confirmation by mail ). I had not received it until about 15.00 of the following day. I asked then by phone. These ladies spoke English 1.nur, looked long in the bookings, was apparently absolutely overbearing. I asked to connect me to a German-speaking colleague. I didn't understand them. The same is a little bit angry (it is a German hotel, there must be someone to speak German ) also in English . Then the answer: ”You should be a little quieter”. I set up and later contacted the owner by mail, who often apologised and explained the process with staff deficiency. 2. I booked because this house appeared to be the first house on the place (also very priceful ), the reviews in several guides were very good and the restaurant was excellent in Michelin among others. Arrived great disappointment: Restaurant closed for weeks. Personal shortage. Yes, breakfast is there, but please tell when you want to have breakfast. A clean, well equipped room and bathroom in the 2.Etage .No lift. Only with the help of a factual, broken English speaking, to find in training shirts with turnshoes, but it was very friendly and helpful. Totally not 4 stars standard but rather a hotel cartoon. € 228.- per night + € 18 parking fee. You always think that you have experienced everything once and you have to revise it. That only helps humor. However, I'm sure I won't book again here.

Ibis Styles Bayreuth

Nice new stylish hotel near the city center and Central Station. Didn't hear any trains in our room. Room and bathroom were nice and clean. Breakfast was good if you don't have a food allergy. I have one (lactose) and the staff didn't understand what this allergy is and therefore they couldn't help me with selecting the food I could eat.
Hotel Rheingold

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Rheingold so we could visit the sights. This was our first stay in Bayreuth even though we have ridden the Main bike path two times earlier. The hotel lies one block from the downtown pedestrian zone and one block from the large shopping mall. There is just an easy stroll to the Opera house and to the Neu Schloss. It would be much more of a walk to the Ermitage. The train station is about a 15 minute walk. The hotel has a secure bike parking closet in the basement garage. For cars the €7 daily parking fee seems good compared to other hotels we've stayed at. We were in room 302, a double room with king bed located on a corner of the building. When we arrived we were a bit concerned that the ac wasn't working. But within minutes the maintenance man showed up with the controller and got it up and running. He was evidentally checking the ac units in all the rooms on that floor. Otherwise the room would have been very hot. The room was clean and a reasonable size. The bathroom was also a good size, clean, and there was good hot water. We would have preferred just a shower, no bathtub, but that's just our preference. As others have noted the breakfast was great. There was hot eggs, bacon, sausage, a variety of fresh breads, cakes, and pastries, cereal, yogurts, fruits, etc. Hard to choose the best things to eat. We were quite happy with our stay.

Hotel Goldener Hirsch

We went to Bayreuth for the Ring Cycle at the Festspielhaus and Hotel Goldener Hirsch proved to be the perfect place to stay. It is a comparatively small (40 rooms) family-run (five generations) hotel within 20 minutes walk of the Festspielhaus and just two minutes from the station and buses. The welcome is warm. You soon feel part of the family. The staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area: transport, places to visit and restaurants. Every year, the hotel shuts for refurbishment and upgrading. The bedrooms are well-appointed with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. Everything is spotless. Breakfast is a feast: eggs to order and a handsome buffet including cold meat, cheese, fruit, cakes and delicious bread. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and really pulled out the stops when one of us needed medical attention. A room was found for the other guest without making any fuss. We shall visit again next year. Where else would we stay?

Old-fashioned villa bungalows, very close to the city center, walk to the festival theater of the Bayreuth Music Festival for about half an hour. Breakfast is OK, there is no one at the front desk, and the staff can be seen at breakfast, which is loose management.

Was in this hotel for a conference from 01/22-23/2020. Nothing great from the outside, but everything is fine inside. Spacious room, nice bathroom, friendly and attentive staff, delicious breakfast, enjoyable dinner for about 80 people! all in all absolutely recommendable!! I'm not a hotel tester, but I value cleanliness and attentive staff. Both were fulfilled here. Both the staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area and dinner were very courteous and attentive. The fact that everyone has a bad day should also be conceded to the staff in a review or hotel. Everyone has a mouth and can speak to the other person if something catches their eye and thus clear things out of the world. It's easy!
