Hotel Walram

I went here on a coach holiday the hotel is wonderful, staff and food excellent the staff are second to none and very polite. The hotel is a five minute walk to all the shops, cafes and eateries. Highly recommended

We have been to this hotel before with National Travel quite a few years ago and it was good then . It was flooded two years ago and has been completely modernised and is a quality hotel to stop in . Usually divide my comments into + 's & - "s but the only criticism I could have is that some of the rooms are a bit small and no drawers - just shelves . Besides that the bar area is really good- large choice of beers - the meals are tasty and the hotel is in a brilliant position to visit the town . There was a parade on in the town (Wednesday) and that was a good night for the kids to show off . There are a few bars/ restaurants to visit if you feel like a drink in the evening . The tour included a visit to the caves Chris**as Market (already paid for in the trip) , Cologne Market was good and Aachen Market good as well - Monschau was pretty dead unusually and not really worth going to . Been in the Summer and Monschau was buzzing but at this time in the year wasn't worth the visit as the market there was at the weekend and this trip is Mon- Fri .Also you get a free meal on the ferry on the way there and on the way back This trip is well worth the money - go for it !

We stayed in this hotel with a coach party for 4 nights whilst visiting local Chris**as markets in Holland and Germany. The positive points are the location. Situated in walking distance to Valkenberg centre and in a pleasant spacious square. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for them almost of them speak excellent English. The buffet breakfasts are very good with lots of choice of hot and cold items including fresh fruit and assorted fresh breads and pastries. There are quality Rituals toiletries in the bathrooms and the rooms are serviced daily. There's a kettle in the room and tea/coffee/sugar in sachets on a tray. The hotel is clean and recently stylishly refurbished in a contemporary style. The negatives are the food at dinner which tastes frozen and processed. We had no choice on the menu and food quality at dinner was poor. There was a salad bar but it was often run down and I had to ask for it to be filled up, which it was. The double bed was 2 singmatresses pushed together with single bedding on each half. A most odd arrangement. The mattress often buckled up in the night and the duvet just covered the matress with no overhang. The room was small with a tiny bathroom. Room 109. There was an annoying alarm that went off everytime you opened the door. Would I stay there again? Not likely as there were so many other hotels in town that could have met my expectations better. Valkenberg though is a charming, magical town at Chris**as and Joy's Flower shop the best florist shop I've ever visited. A must if you are in the area!

Went to this hotel as part of a trip to Valkenburg visiting Chris**as Markets in Holland and Germany, 4 night stay. Rooms ok, although on arrival we had a leak in the bathroom and was left with a bucket to put under the sink until the next morning. Basic room with shower but ok. Breakfast was always very good but we could never understand why the evening meal (except for the first night) was disastrous. Never enough starters for our coach party, soup was always salty and main meal when it eventually got served was as dry as the Gobi desert! Veg was non existent, could have nailed nails in with my breaded reformed fish. Why of why was the evening meal always late and when it arrived it was dried up. We missed the Chris**as Parade on Wednesday night because we were awaiting our sweet. Waiters apologetic re food, no manager ever present. Very disappointing.

Lovely friendly hotel could not be better placed for seeing all in Valkenburg. Room we were in was basic but large enough and equipped with tea/coffee facilities. Excellent shower and comfy bed. Large selection for breakfast which was fresh and tasty.

Lovely comfortable bed and pillows. Clean but very basic. Most things had to stay in suitcase. Need a map to find your way around. Up some steps then down to lift. Breakfast very good, evening meal poor

Wow this hidden gem could easily have been much higher rated IF 1) housekeeping actually cleaned, they simply pulled the duvet up over the bottom sheet which was all pulled up?? Knocked my pills onto the floor I talked to the receptionist who said they’d check that night was just as bad Disappointing 2) token system didn’t work we were supposed to have an hour free bar but got played over Worked better the XL second night 3) young blonde server at same bar told me to go use the cappuccino machine to make a coffee/ it was broken however She was rude and wouldn’t have had a job in my country with her attitude On the up side my room had a corner bathtub which was lovely and the beds were super comfy loved them ❤️The breakfast was very nice including hot eggs, bacon an sausage and fresh breads Supper meal had BEAUTIFUL soups loved them and very nice dessert’s Again with some communication improvements this could be a FIVE /FIVE Excellent location walkable to everywhere Another disappoin**ent was the advertising said nice pool it was apparently being serviced Positive

Well the hotel got off to a bad start when we arrived at 10.50pm on a Shearings trip and nobody was available to help with the luggage. So only 1 lift for 35 people and a long wait with no drinks available. On the whole, the staff were great, friendly, helpful and smiling and the food (breakfast and evening meals) were very good. The hotel is in an excellent location to explore the town. Unfortunately after a very heavy thunderstorm and torrential rain several rooms were flooded including one from my group. The staff were helpful in getting another room available and moving the people involved. You get the feeling that the hotel is understaffed but they do try very hard to make the stay as nice as possible. Last but not least if your room doesn't have a hair dryer, they're available from reception

It is a lovely hotel and mainly friendly staff.there was just one girl in the dining room who did not smile a lot .our room was very large and lovely big corner bath .the breakfast was nice with loads to choose from and meals at night were very good .drinks were a reasonable price .it is set in the centre of valkenberg and very near to everything and next to the river .if I ever went back to valkenberg I would choose this hotel again .
