Palm River Hotel

Truly a remarkable experience at the Palm River Hotel, which is right on the Zambezi River, just minutes from Victoria Falls. The hotel itself is superior in every way. The staff, rooms, food service, and amenities were excellent in every conceivable way. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. When we were sitting resting around the pool, elephants strolled by in a peaceful manner, watched attentively by the staff. Everything at this recently opened Hotel is first class! I highly recommend this facility when traveling to see Victoria Falls and Zimbabwe. While there, one can arrange a personal interaction tour with elephants at a nearby facility, which is absolutely awesome, as well as a helicopter ride above Victoria Falls, which provides a truly magnificent perspective of one of the seven wonders of the world!

Lovely dinner at the Palm River Hotel. We were staying at their sister property, the Ilala, which offers 20% off when you dine at Palm River. Delicious food and wine but the true hit of our evening was our server, Michele. She was so funny and charming and we all wished we could have spent more time with her.

Exquisite hotel location overlooking the mighty Zambezi with surrounding natural beauty, completely untouched. Modern open design with features specific to Victoria Falls, like an archway constructed in the same design as the historic Rhodes inspired suspension bridge. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and spacious with absolutely everything you could possibly need as well as charming river views. Management has thought of absolutely everything to fulfil a luxury experience. Breakfasts are a treat as is all food served whether next to the river in candle light suspended from the tree branches or from the elevated and open plan dining area. Great wine list too. If you are looking for understated, laid back luxury in a beautiful setting, this is the place. We will not hesitate to return. Well done!

Great hotel, with stylish decor. Nicely located with a beautiful garden and swimming pool area. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. Good restaurant. Complementary shuttle to town. Highly recommended.

This was our first stop in a 2 week safari vacation on our way to Botswana. What a way to start! The property is GORGEOUS, located along the Zambezi riverbank, and ALL the staff was welcoming and extremely guest/service oriented. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, as are the baths. There is a wet bar with a stocked refrigerator as well as coffee and tea service. All the glass ware is actually glass, no plastic. The rooms are all equipped with both room and personal bug spray; the staff also 'prepares' your room nightly. (We had absolutely no issue with bugs.) There is also a patio with seating area for each room. The main service area of the property is styled after an old plantation - all open to the fresh air. This includes the reception, dining, bar, patio, pool, etc. There is dining under roof but the exterior walls are open (can be closed). Sun umbrellas and heaters are also available as and where needed. The property is 'open' so wildlife roams through - we saw baboons, impalas (? small antelope), monkeys, warthogs - all at a safe distance. They offer a sunset cruise that is wonderful and offers many more wildlife sightings; highly recommend! They also can help arrange other off property activities, including Victoria Falls (short minutes drive away). They arranged car service for us to attend lunch at Dusty Roads Township Experience - well worth it if you're interested in the local culture and adventurous (and not expensive). They have a gym and pool along with full service dining (delicious!) and bar and ready transportation. Communication is great and timely. They also offer free bottled water and water filing station and daily high tea. Absolutely lovely stay, couldn't ask for anything more - and didn't have to! Only regret is they don't have a staff tip box, wish they did as all the staff engages making your stay everything you want and more.

We had the best 3 nights at the Palm River Hotel. The staff was so friendly and ready to assist with any requests we had. Excursions were so easy to book and were of great quality. We loved the sunset cruises so much we did it 2 nights in a row. Our room was very comfortable and a joy to sit on the patio to watch the river go by. Our last night at dinner on the property 2 hippos came out of the water and elephants walked through. What a special moment. Great place to relax with top quality customer service. Keep up the great work!

Excellent venue ,beautiful surroundings, friendly and hard working staff . Best place to stay when in Vic Falls. Even if one does not have any activities planned, hotels garden overlooking the mighty Zambezi is a great place to unwind and enjoy the nature.

Location: Set on the Zambezi River, it is located under a 10 minute drive from Victoria Falls town. You have to take a shuttle to get into town which can be inconvenient if you want to explore on and off throughout the day. If I could change one thing, I do wish it was walking distance to town. Room: There were a lot of mosquitos in our room which I assume is due to the hotels proximity to the river. The hotel did provide spray but did not have mosquito nets in the rooms. I left with A LOT of bites despite efforts to prevent them. Washington, our housekeeper, was great during our stay! Food: Because we were not walking distance to town we ended up eating at the restaurant in the hotel every night. Luckily, the food did not disappoint, it was delicious. I will note that if you have food allergies be sure to read the plate details carefully because the helpful images on the menu to identify allergens were often inaccurate. Our servers, Prince Gumbo (dinner) and John (breakfast) were both great! The morning breakfast cruise on the Zambezi was also enjoyable and I would suggest going during your stay at Palm River Hotel. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at the Palm River Hotel. The property is absolutely beautiful, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious!

A wide selection is available on the menu. The food is tasty and plating is something else. Thank you to the hospitable staff Keith and Simba. We didn’t manage to see the Chef but ‘kudos’ to you Chef.
