The Featherbed Inn

We had such a lovely time at the featherbed inn! Location is perfect! The food! You won't need lunch when you start your day with a three course gourmet breakfast. And the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. The innkeepers are so accommodating and warm. It was a perfect stay in Vermont. Highly recommend this experience to anyone. We made wonderful memories there!

Wonderful, well-located inn with the warmest most attentive innkeepers that I have ever met. A very authentic Vermont inn, beautiful old house, very clean and well kept, with delicious breakfasts. The inn is within 5 minutes of Waitsfield, the Sugarbush access road and next door to American Flatbread. It is on rte. 100, so there is traffic noise, but it was hardly noticed. Karen and Mick are engaging and warm; they are true people-persons! They share interesting stories and views on local places and events, plus they seem genuinely interested in their guests' stories. Both were on-hand and available all three days (Friday, thru Sun) we were at the inn, and the meal service was prompt and well managed by the two of them. The breakfasts were eclectic, delicious, and filling. (Don't expect to get the usual VT pancakes and sausages, breakfasts were a culinary adventure!) The amenities were appreciated: 4-person hot tub on deck was great, plenty of games to borrow, the two common spaces were well furnished, comfortable and warm. We hope to be able to stay here soon again and wouldn't consider any other inn in the MRV area; it was great!

Our stay at The Featherbed was wonderful! The owners are warm, inviting, and incredible cooks! Our breakfast was Amazing and over the top! Our room had 2 separate bedrooms with a separate bathroom, perfect for 2 couples. I highly recommend The Featherbed and can’t wait to go back!

Stayed here with my 2 kids the last weekend of January. Very happy with our accommodations and visit. We stayed in a 2 bedroom room in the main house and it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were fantastic. It was something I looked forward to each morning. Also, having freshly made cookies when getting back from skiing was quite a treat. Karen and Mick are great hosts and I will definitely stay again in the future. Highly recommend staying here.

Karen and Mick are the hosts with the mosts. It was my first time at Featherbed but it felt like I had already been there. The attention to detail and that everything was so well thought out showed care and experience. The gourmet breakfasts were out of this world! A hot tub waiting for me after a hard day on the mountain was rewarding. Featherbed Inn feels like home.

My husband and I went for a weekend in March, and it was so cozy and relaxing! Loved sitting in front of a wood fire, relaxing in the hot tub, and especially eating the incredible breakfasts every morning! We also did a little bit of hiking on trails that connect right to the property, and enjoyed the very fun eat-in movie theater. Karen and Mick are so friendly and we had a great time getting to know them!

I had the absolute pleasure of discovering this gem for the first time and meeting Mick and Karen, the proprietors. They already feel like old friends! And the place is quintessential Vermont (or, at least, what I imagine quintessential Vermont to be). Set just off the road with woods, hills and river all around, the home retains all of it's original charm but is perfectly clean and updated. They kept a warming fire going in the cozy and inviting shared living room. My room was comfortable with queen bed and a loveseat for lounging. Breakfast was amazing! Home cooked creations that were as unique as they were delicious. I can't wait to go back in the summer so I can jump off the dock into the pond on site.

Do yourself a favor and stay at The Featherbed Inn if you are in the area! Karen and Mick cultivate a beautiful environment and immediately foster community in a way that makes it feel like you're spending the weekend with close friends. There is a glorious hot tub, mulled wine in the evenings, board games, a cd player, a fireplace, and exceptional breakfast. Thank you Karen and Mick!

I have not stayed at an inn in quite sometime...and Karen and Mick have made us believers! We had THE most unbelievable stay at The Featherbed Inn and cannot wait to return. I was expecting a muffin and coffee in the morning and we had THE most delicious and gourmet breakfast imaginable. And the tableware was divine! Talk about hospitable and helpful: I left feeling like I had known Karen and Mick for years. Go and enjoy your stay! Cheers!
