We stayed here one night on our cycling trip, and after a rough start (rather grouchy proprietor man at the front desk who didn’t speak any English and seemed sick of cycling guests, although we were only 4 easygoing people), enjoyed our stay. Bike storage was up around the corner through a garage that the proprietor had to open for us. We had a nice big room (though our friends had a tiny single next door to us and a larger single across the street and up several flights of stairs, so they were less thrilled). Our room was over the little walking street but quiet and comfortable. There was plenty of space, a big bed, closets and shelves, a big bathroom, and a good little desk and fast Wifi. The hotel is in a great location in the main old streets of Zell, with one side facing the river and the other the walking street. There is a good, expansive breakfast buffet in the huge dining room downstairs overlooking the river, with friendly and bustling service. Strangely, even though it was still tourist season (early Sept), and it was a Tuesday night, we found almost no restaurants open for dinner and were even turned away at more than one (at 7-7:30pm). But we ended up having an excellent dinner at a friendly Italian restaurant near the hotel.

I was very glad to have stayed here! I messed up on my travel arrangements and arrived about 4 hours later as it was getting dusk. They could not have been more friendly and I had a very good meal without rush. I will return. Some way from the station

We stayed here 2 nights after a day cruise from Koblenz, the hotel is in an excellent location, our room was across the street from the main building on the first floor, there was an outdoor patio to sit at, drink wine and watch people walk by, we ate breakfast and lunch in the restaurant and both meals were very good. This is a great place to stay in Rudesheim , close to everything

Had a cycling holiday with friends and slept in the hotel zum grünen kranz. Three star hotel run by a family, very friendly welcome! Rooms renovated but maintenance leaves much to be desired, shower shows a lot of mold. Underbed also a lot of dust. Very hot during our stay and despite fans we could not cool our rooms. Dinner 3 course dinner, but very German food, greasy and little taste. There is plenty around to eat. Reception and bicycle storage closes very early at 8 p.m.!

Friendly staff, for the most part (except for the older lady in black at the breakfast buffet). The buffet was supposed to be open from 8am: there was no filter coffee or bread - arrived at about 8:30am - no bread, no croissants, which, however, should be offered in the "gourmet buffet". The food in the restaurant was very tasty, but the "lounge music" was annoying, so we didn't go back for dinner. There were no glasses in the room if you wanted to drink wine - no toothbrush glass/mug.

Centrally located and all sights within walking distance, great restaurant with regional and freshly prepared food accompanied by a selection of the best wines from the Rheingau, which can also be bought as a gift for those at home in the associated wine shop. Bicycle trips are a must in the beautiful area of Rüdesheim and can be rented directly from the hotel. There is even a senior scooter for elderly people who are no longer able to walk so well! All in all, with attentive staff and service, this stay was a successful and fantastic break! Many thanks to the Nägler family and team and see you soon...

Check-in went well, very friendly. Our room was in the building next door, overall large and good, only the blinds didn't work properly. The breakfast was full, cramped and of mediocre quality.

I'll start with breakfast, it couldn't be worse. Scrambled eggs from a packet, the cheapest sausage and cheese, if you come to breakfast after 9:00 they only refill it moderately. For fifteen euros, that's a disgrace. You have to leave the fridge in the room off, it makes a hell of a noise. New towels only came when asked for. There are no glasses in the small kitchen, so the water and wine provided can only be drunk from the bottle. The toilet brush is disgusting. A new one costs less than 10 euros. In the shower, most of the water runs down the wall, the connection is not tight. Staircase, hallway and room not cleaned properly. See the title of my review.

It doesn't get more Rheingau than this. A very friendly team with one of the best wine selections in the Rheingau, very tasty food (there were four of us and we were all super happy). The rooms are modern, due to the structural conditions in the beautiful historic houses, sometimes larger, sometimes smaller, sometimes with angles, sometimes with beams, sometimes with a bathtub, sometimes with a shower (we had four rooms), but always lovingly decorated. The location is perfect, a stone's throw from the famous Drosselgasse and the cable car to the Niederalddenkmal, parking almost on the doorstep and yet right next to the vineyards. We had a lot of fun with the great hotel and restaurant and at the end we bought a few cases of wine from the in-house wine shop with wines from all the Rheingau's top wineries.
