Hotels near Chilwell Gardens play area, Watford

Lovely hotel but barman tried to charge for 2 free glasses of wine and reception tried to charge for 4 breakfasts when we had only ordered 2. Other than that everything was good.

A very good hotel. Close to the town centre and shopping. Easy to park. Food and service excellent. Rooms clean and all public areas warm, welcoming and well maintained. No air conditioning but not a problem even on a hot day. Fan provided in the room and plenty space in the family room so didn't feel hot or stuffy. The staff were exceptional, every one of them. They were welcoming and very efficient. At meal times they were constantly moving around, cleaning and keeping tables clear. They were amazing. Please do thank them.

Quick booking we arrived at 7pm had to check-in at the reception next door holiday inn very quick and smooth, was confused as its within the hotel itself and opened the doing to a beautiful spacious apartment we bought food from a local restaurant was lovely to eat and use the kitchen with a dishwasher too! The bed was huge but rock hard... the only thing we disliked was the stifling heat absolutely no air and no air conditioning whatsoever! There was a tower fan and a normal fan provided but didn't make any difference whatsoever although it was July it was torrential rain outside English weather so wasn't hot outside I had to have 3 showers and kept having to go outside during the night to get air , didn't have a comfortable sleep whatsoever and tge fans on all night long either side of the bed with the windows open only around a cm because that's as far as they would go, but if there was aircon this would of been my favourite stay ever ,the local shops restaurants and town centre is a 10 min walk away and parking is £8 per night even with a disability badge. Your able to use the facilities in hotel for food and drinks but we used the local restaurants nearby and used the fridge for our own bought alcohol because it was raining outside... staff was above and beyond.

My line manager had booked the room for me as my IHG account wasn’t approved yet by my GM and I was greeted by Zahr if I spelt that right, I do apologise if I’ve spelt that wrong, he was very friendly, he did his job by trying to figure out if I was an employee of holiday inn, which he did his checks and my information had come back correct, I left earlier that night and come back and I was still greeted with a friendly welcome from him. It’s been a pleasure to stay with the holiday inn, my room was cleaned to perfection and I’ve had no issues, Zahr deserves to be employee of the month if that’s a thing here. 1st time staying here 4 September. We arrived early and the receptionist was very friendly and immediately arranged that our room was clean and ready for us even though we checked in 2 hours early. She was very efficient and I noticed the next morning she was clearing the breakfast things as well as managing Reception, sorry can't remember her name. My husband is disabled so she gave us a large room with wet room no extra charge, which they certainly do in London hotels. Very comfortable and had a quiet night, no doors banging, street noise or people being rowdy. Lovely buffet breakfast, cooked well and hot. Everywhere very clean and enjoyed our stay. Lovely location next to the River, lock and little marina with lovely barges. Would visit again and recommend.

The room is clean and hygienic. The facilities are complete. The environment is elegant and quiet. The transportation is convenient. There are bus stops and train stations within a short walk. The service attitude is very good. The boss is very enthusiastic. It's worth a visit.

Everything needed for an overnight stay with a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. No complaints!
