Friendly quiet Inn a minute from route 100. We have stayed there many times. It's always like coming home. We even purchased gift certificates for our adult kids and spouses to stay there. Great breakfast comes with your stay. Will be back this fall.

When I read reviews like a couple of the recent "nasty" reviews, I'm certain that it's self-absorbed big city folks expecting preferential trea**ent and a ritz carlton vibe. C'mon! I ski nearby Mt. Snow several times each season, but always as a day trip after an easy two hour drive up from Connecticut. This visit, my adult daughter and I decided to make it an overnight. This classic inn is the real deal. It has excellent curb appeal, is rustic, has a creaky staircase, and is a tad threadbare in spots. It also has nicely appointed rooms, is quiet, is very clean, and is owned by a couple who is passionate about providing classic and charming room and board. They have a cozy room off the lobby that allows for indoor socializing; if you can't get enough of the outdoors, then go outdoors and light a fire in the firepit by the front door. The tavern is open to the public for dinner, and open to overnight guests only for breakfast. We were a tad lucky and walked right in at 7pm and were immediately seated. We enjoyed a cocktail, a great caesar salad for her and clam chowder for me, and we shared the excruciatingly delicious short ribs entree. The flourless chocolate cake was perfectly prepared and presented. Service was prompt and friendly. Pro Tip: we didn't have oysters this visit, but there were no fewer than six varieties on the menu - the owner runs down to the Boston fishing pier three times a week to ensure their supply is ample and fresh. Sure enough, as promised, when I wandered downstairs the next morning, there was the owner who I enjoyed a cup of coffee with, and when my daughter joined us, personally prepared the best blueberry pancake breakfast one could imagine. What a great start to a busy day on the slopes. You could pay more for a room in West Dover. You could stay closer to Mt. Snow (it's only a 3-minute drive to the base of the mountain). But you won't likely have a better, more authentic Vermont overnight experience than you will at the West Dover Inn. Highly recommended!

I had the worst experience there. Workers were rude and nasty. I’m never going back ever again. I didn’t get my money back they didn’t let us sleep in peace. I wish I new a bit more about them before I booked my reservation there with them. Never go there food is nasty.

BEAUTIFUL ON THE outside Miserable NASTY people on the inside!! We saw the owner kick out two couples, because they asked for a new burger! THEY EVEN CALLED the cops on the owner, because HE was getting into one of the females faces. Everyone in the restaurant felt so bad for them, but we all just wanted to keep eating due to the fact WE WAITED almost 2 hours to be seated!!! This was so awkward and the Owner/MANGER handle the situation nasty!!! NASTY NASTY WILL NEVER STAY OR EAT HERE AGAIN with my family!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Sleeping in your car!! And eat Mc Donald’s WAY BETTER

Look at pics attached! The innkeeper, Phil, kicked us out of his inn over a burger! We asked the waitress to remake our burger and she gave us an attitude took the burger and when she returned with the remade burger she threw it on the table and it still came out wrong! When we told her it was still wrong Phil came up to us and said. "I don't like your attitude. Get the f#@k out of my house." When I told him we just want a burger made correctly so we can eat and it’s 9pm he said... "I don't give a s#!t. Get the f#@k out of my house before I call the cops. They come all the time" He got in my sisters face and even tried to put his hands on her. ( I have it all on tape!) So we ended up calling the cops ourselves and filed a report. He was obnoxious, rude, and vulgar. I'll never set foot in that place again and I wish we read the reviews before we booked this place because he said the same thing to another guest. Absolutely disgusting! Look at the hostility in the picture and how close he was to us and our table even his coworker looks done with him! Read less

I was here for a family wedding and the inn had everything we needed. Great choices to choose from for breakfast, which is included. Food and service at the Tavern were excellent. Additionally, the service and hospitality from Charles cannot be beat. I plan to return.

We stayed for five days in this friendly, homey inn where all meals were served and the food was fabulous! Each room had its own air conditioner, and the beds were ultracomfortable and fluffy. The only drawbacks were stains on the carpet which I assumed were pet stains and a rather ancient bathtub. We would absolutely stay there again. The staff and management were friendly and knowledgeable, and the entire week was relaxing and enjoyable. And, by the way, the bridge instruction, which was the reason for us being there, was excellent!

My friend and I have been participating in the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge for the last six years, and we always stay at the inn. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. It's not the fanciest of accommodations, but there's just something special about this place, and the owner, Phil, is an absolute gem! The Challenge on its own is great, but staying here definitely adds to the experience. The rooms are clean, the staff are all super friendly and accommodating, and the food at the tavern is delicious!

Such a fun and personalized experience! We have stayed here twice in the summer - this year and ten years ago - to complete the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, as are many of the Vermonters we had the pleasure of interacting with on our trips. Having the connected tavern and restaurant that's open 7 nights per week right there in is very convenient. Phil and Kathy will take great care of you!
