I am 66 and walked a very steep route to get to this pub on wednesday April 17 which is in the Hall&Woodhouse stable - its website boasts of its pride in its pubs and beers. All I wanted was a pint of real ale before beginning the arduous trek back. The pub has four or five real ales on offer - but on this lunchtime only one was available. When pulled, it came up like liquid mud; even the French barmaid took one look at it, proclaimed it was the end of the barrel and set it to one side. She went out the back to ask about other beers. She said one would be available in five minutes. Ten minutes later, having paid for a pint and a coffee for my wife, I was still waiting. The French lady said changing the barrel "might take some time." She then offered up the murky, undrinkable pint she had pulled. I asked why I couldn't have another real ale. "It will be ready when we have time," snapped another ungracious member of staff. The pub was not busy. I asked for a refund instead. It was given without apology or explanation. Or grace. Because of its location it is easy to understand why the staff do not give a toss for passing tourist trade. I wrote to the brewery, which gushes on uits website about pride in its beers and pubs etc., the day after. A month later, no-one has contacted me with an explanation. I would advise visitors to give this place a wide berth.

Service was great but food absolutely awful! We had the crab ravioli which arrived lukewarm at best, every element was over-salted, crab could hardly be seen or tasted, the ' bisque' was a non descript sauce and the whole dish did not reflect the description on the menu. The sour dough bread accompaniment was stale and tasteless. Maybe their pub classics are better!

This is a lovely hotel situated in a picturesque village with access to gorgeous coastal paths and the famous Durdle Door beach.

Roast dinners - lovely tasting but very small portions (especially for the price)- also served quite lukewarm warm. Had to wait 40mins and then they forgot the gravy! Tables outside were dirty, had to ask for it to be cleaned Vegetarian roast was burnt and over cooked and dry Maybe the menu the rest of the week Is better

This was just an amazing little gem with the most friendly people, outstanding service, great food and wonderful hikes to explore the geological wonders of the Jurassic Coast. We were so pleased with our roomy accommodations and the extremely helpful and friendly staff. What a cool experience!

The Lulworth Cove Inn offered a better stay than we had anticipated. A great stay over the Easter weekend. Amazing breakfast, especially the 'full English' - every ingredient great (tasty bacon, Cumberland sausage, cooked beefsteak tomato, extra large mushroom, baked beans, 2 eggs, sourdough toast) , plus fruits, pastries, cereals, yoghurts. Room was great with a comfortable bed and good sea view - may go for a room with its own sun terrace next time. Dinner offered a good choice and we opted for the venison bourguignonne a couple of times, so tasty. Staff and service were excellent - special thanks to Chelsea who showed us to our room on arrival and was extremely helpful with reservations and orders.
