Sadly no lift - a big problem for elderly slightly infirm people, and seemingly no advertised information about this

Four of us went for a short break, the rooms were lovely and clean, we did upgrade to premium rooms, the hotel in general could do with a bit of tlc. The biggest problem we had was breakfast at The Brewers Fayre, all the food was cold, the food didn't seem to be heated in any way at front of house, even the coffee out of the machine was lukewarm. There wasn't enough staff for the amount of customers, we tried to have an evening meal on one of the nights only to be told that they couldn't let anyone else in as they hadn't got the staff to serve us.

It was not like the usual Premier Inn, needs redecorating, a very deep clean in bedroom and bathroom, bed lumpy, We also went to the brewers fayre next door whilst there on a meal deal, there doesn't seem to be very good communication between the two places.will not be returning to either place again 🤬

Overall stay was very good, very helpful and friendly staff. Good location. Some details were missed in our room, glasses, kettle and sink not clean. The bath is slippery and towels were small. Apart from that truly excellent and can recommend

Yes the room was more expensive than a normal one but it was well appointed and comfortable. Ideal to celebrate our Golden Wedding. It was very quiet at night. The stairs were difficult for us so a lift would have made it a 5* pluss stay for us.

We knew that this Premier Inn did not have a lift, and we were given room 101 up on the second floor. We were offered help with our suitcase, which we declined, but we did not know then that it was up 35 steps. Typical Premier Inn room. The cleaning staff have still not been given the right equipment to do the job properly, so the edges of the room, and the edges of the long corridor, as well as those 35 steps are never cleaned. There are no instructions for any fire escape on the back of the bedroom door. That is because the only way out is via those 35 dirty steps. Only 1 hand towel for 2 people. Milk not replenished at reception. An interesting point, which Trip Advisor should investigate, is that people who make positive reviews for either this hotel or the adjacent Brewer's Fayre, have in the past, only made a maximum of 3 reviews. This, to me, suggests that they may not be genuine.

Trying to contact hotel to cancel or amend booking for 3 days after husband's unexpected hospital admission, no pick ups from any of numbers given, it would appear once they have your money there is no support. Now awaiting prepayment receipt, usually follows booking confirmation after amendment.

Bearing in mind this was on the eve of a bank holiday, both hotel and adjacent bar/restaurant customer service was atrocious, I personally had to enter the kitchen twice on the Saturday lunchtime to grab someone's attention, the staff (some who I felt sorry for) were invisible and some (alas, were poorly trained), ringing the bell seven times in the hotel reception, and on the following morning I was astonished to find just two members of staff running the whole restaurant breakfast sitting, refreshing cooked food, answering queries, and greeting new customers. Cups and food amongst other things were on short supply and the quality of the food clearly rushed, and when this happens... chaos ensues. The hotel corridors were strewn with linen, no apologies from staff after repeatedly ringing the bell. The management of this hotel, be it local or regional need to have a good look at themselves as this "first impression" that would have been experienced by dozens of couples and families, and no doubt some people wouldn't have flinched at what they saw and suffered, but a lot would have been very, very disappointed. I'm always honest enough to say positive things when they are deserved, and that was the room, BUT THAT WAS IT! GET A GRIP PREMIER INN & BREWERS FARE!

Stayed in the Premier Inn with my University field trip group. We had a wonderful stay with very comfy rooms (amazing shower pressure) and super helpful staff - shoutout to Tom for the Rock candy! Amazing buffet breakfast every morning - full english + cereal and pastries.
