Sportsman's Lodge

Ceiling tiles in room were falling down. Freezer in room was dirty on the inside. There was a musty smell also.

I am only reviewing the lodge rooms. The rooms have been upgraded and are adequate. There is in room coffee maker. There are no clocks or phones in the room. If you have other quests in rooms above you, you will hear them walking around. The beds are comfortable. They currently do not have a pool.(at one time they did). They offer a fan in the room. The dining room has been remodeled. The food is ok but I feel overpriced. Check in was quick. They have a Bunn machine in lobby area that distributes different coffees and hot chocolate. This is complimentary along with cookies.

25 years of ice fishing here....... The decline over the last couple of years is almost immeasurable, especially the last 2. Day 1 check-in: NO HEAT in our cabin with a windchill of -29 degrees F. One of the keys to our cabin was an uncut blank. The best they could do was give us two floor space heaters which immediately blew the fuse. The entire cabin is run on two old fashion screw in fuses that do NOT match. Back to the office and they gave us two more fuses that lasted until about 11 PM. The rest of the night was spent in our ice fishing garb to keep from dying as they refused to do anything more for our 3 person group. Day 1 fishing: So slow......they used to move us when we were set up on a bogus spot. Our driver doesn't fish.......they used to fish a bit to keep us on the fish. Those days are long gone. Day 2 fishing: Even slower fishing and they would NOT move any of the groups. Our driver forgot to drop off our lunches (meal plan) and we had to flag him down and remind him. At check-out we were given a whopping 15 % discount. Never again. After a quarter of a century ice fishing here not another penny will be spent at this dump. The restrooms in the motel side reek of urine and are filthy. The salad bar is tiny now. The food is WAY over priced, and breakfast is eggs with meat (sausage patty) or eggs without meat. NO MORE BACON?! .....WTH?! The new owners either don't know what's happening or don't care. There's more.....I have pics and video but can only post a few! Sportsman's Lodge is CLOWN SHOES!

Sportsman guide Mike cline did an outstanding job of guiding and teaching. The boat he used was in great shape as we took our limit two of the tree days. We also did the shore line lunch one day to eat our own fresh catch. For our meals we enjoyed the sand bar at the location. It was affordable with a very good selection of dishes.
