Shangu Guesthouse, Xiahe, Gansu Province 拉卜楞寺噶寺沟大白塔对面308号 is fabulously located with uninterrupted views of Labrang Monastery. This family run guesthouse goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and culturally rewarding. The boss’s niece guided us on the outer mountainous 3 hour kora; truly breathtaking, with spectacular views.

I deliberately took my time and booked Shangu. The experience was really good. My friends and I really loved this immersive B&B. The lady was super nice. I put my luggage first and then parked the car. The location is just opposite Labrang Monastery, and it was very shocking when I went out for a walk at night. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, very home-cooked, great, I think it’s worth it

It was very comfortable and felt like home. I had the honor to chat with Master Ako from Labrang Monastery and enjoy tea. I received welcome snacks as soon as I checked in. I had an authentic Tibetan breakfast and chose hand-caught mutton for dinner. It was delicious! The next day, we continued to have a delicious lunch of yak hot pot at the branch. The decoration of the B&B is quite artistic. There are many places to drink tea and take pictures. The service is very good. Every staff member is very enthusiastic and considerate. The breakfast is Tibetan style. However, the experience of checking in was not good. The room was a glass room built on the second floor. It looked like a sauna and you couldn't stay in it during the day. The electric water heater leaked and my son was electrocuted while taking a shower! 非常驚艷的民宿，甘南此行最佳！首先位置就在拉樸楞寺門口，門口有個山包能拍到全景，離商業街步行不到五分鐘；飲食，到達即有歡迎茶飲，在二樓公共區坐一下喝杯茶吃些小食，太舒服了。晚餐選了耗牛火鍋，早餐為藏式，都非常好。服務，店主妹妹善良美好，準確來説一家人以及貓貓都很美好，謝謝你們的照顧
