The main problem with the site is that they have not put the proper pictures showing the correct rooms and therefore there are rules in the hotel that do not look like the pictures that are being portrayed and therefore this is not being honest and because I was having vegetarian vegan foods it seemed like the chef did not know what to cook and second of all what he did do on the hall was not very good and the quality was a very good all the side dishes the salads and ready-made ghettos and things like that were great

Booked this hotel within an hour of arriving due to a nightmare 10 hour drive and closure on the M6. Rang ahead and spoke to the lovely Alison who’s reassuring voice and friendly manner restored my confidence that I wouldn’t have to sleep in my car. Yes it’s not the prettiest place, not much character to the accommodation but it is predominantly a conference centre and not so where you would perhaps go for a holiday. Bed was clean, room was warm, shower was hot and powerful. Only stayed for 8 hours but Alison knocked the price of breakfast off the cost which she didn’t have to do.

Disappointing, stayed 3 nights on business, rooms very dated, breakfast good, lunch OK, dinner 6 out of 10. Staff are very good. Town of Stone is only a couple of miles away and is a lovely town. Bars and restaurants a plenty.

What a strange place Yarnfield Park is. To find it you have to drive through a twisty new build housing estate, surely it can't be here? Well it is. There's even a sign encouraging you to keep going. You then come to a large car park and a short walk later, the beauty of Yarnfield Park unfolds before your very eyes. The best way I can describe it is a 1990s Army Barracks, with a old sports centre in the middle of it. There's even a random disused watertower. Reception is in the 'Sports Centre'. I almost expected Gordon Brittas to appear at this point. The receptionist was very pleasent, got me checked in and off I went to my accommodation block. I had upgraded to a delux room. It may look like an army barracks, but the Officers Mess, it wasn't. A tiny tired looking room. Bizarrely with a 1970s phone. I don't know if this was put there as a joke by some one, or it is genuine issue. Anyway, off to the Cookhouse for tea. Unusually this was a buffet style, which I quiet liked the idea of, initially. You pick your meal off a display screen on the wall then go to the relevant serving station. I have included a picture of the slice of pie I was given. We had now gone from Army Cookhouse to infant school dinners. I know the was a Army barracks ambience, but surely rationing wasn't still in place? Anxious to find out I waited at the entrance check in area of the dining hall, but the dest wasn't staffed. So I went to the sports centre, sorry, reception and after a while I was greeted by a very pleasant lady. I showed her a picture of the tiny piece of pie I had been served. I asked if she thought it was an appropriate size for an adult portion. There was a long pause after which she went on to explain the pie had to be cut into so many pieces. Very helpful, a pity the other thirty odd were twice the size of mine. I have included a photograph. Which doesn't quite do it justice, take into account the plate is small and the peas and mash were single spoonfuls. I'm supposed to be here two nights, but I am checking out in the morning. I suppose it is quite funny and is like being back in the army, the only difference is, I was getting paid to do it back then! Good bits- Friendly staff, free car parking. Bad bits- everything else.

Great place to stay, staff very helpful and friendly. Food in restaurant very good with plenty of choice. Would have given five stars but cushion and runner on bed had a stain on them and the remote for the TV was very dirty. ( I cleaned both) Apart from that I would stay again.

Firstly I’d like to say I came here on a 4 day training course and I think it’s a great venue for that purpose as the rooms, restaurant, bar and conference rooms are all close by on one site. I don’t know how much the rooms cost but I’d expect them to be similar to a travel lodge The site has a campus feel to it and it’s probably not the most modern place but it’s clean and feels safe. Bear in mind it used to be a BT training centre (and is still used for that), so if you’re looking for a luxury experience this is not the place for you. The standard rooms are small but functional and fine for a solo traveller. I think I’d struggle if I was sharing just due to the room size. The mattress was quite thin and clunky but having said that I slept well and I was able to turn the radiator down so that I didn’t boil! There’s no air con but you can open the windows. The bathroom has been completely modernised and has a lovely shower but it’s a shame the towel rack is really rusty and hasn’t been removed or replaced. The staff have all been wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Being on a course I was full board and fhere was a really nice selection of food at every meal. The portions don’t look very big but they were really filling with vegetarian options and a salad bar at lunch and dinner along with a dessert bar and fruit available. It was so lovely to go to a conference/course that didn’t serve a beige buffet at every meal and actually gave you vegetables. The food was much better than the Hilton conference package that I experienced in October During the day there was self-service tea, coffee and water constantly available. Bar was pleasant and has a screen you can see from the car park (I kid you not) Ample on-site parking, free fast wi-fi and a very short walk into the village which has a shop and a pub. The rooms are probably 3 star but the staff 5 star. A little bit of TLC and attention to detail could really improve the rooms Tips to make your stay more comfortable: Bring a big towel (the bath towel is tiny) Earplugs if you’re a light sleeper Pack your extra cake tummy

Whilst it was not a bad stay it was a little bit different to what I was expecting. More in the style of a university campus than a hotel. The rooms are in separate buildings blocks to the main reception area. The room was compact, but comfortable. The restaurant was more like a canteen with only a few options served from a counter. The meals themselves were nice. The bar was in separate area so if you want alcohol with your meal, you have get it from the bar and take it to the restaurant. The staff were polite and friendly.

Although it wasn't like a conventional hotel stay, the stay was adequate for my need. The room was spottlessly clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the facilities were there too.
