I just came back from spending the holiday at Le Royal Hammamet hotel and I can only recommend this place to you! Service is quick, buffet is very generous and maybe the best thing in this hotel are guys in animation team!!! There is somebody to cater to your ever need. Special shoutout to Mario, who was very friendly and even talked with us about Tunisia in general, I really liked that, he really was there for our every need, truly the best! Evening entertainment was really fun, there were karaoke (which is nice because you get to know a lot of different songs from different countries), live music, even live sax player! I can recommend this place!!! 👍🏼

The hotel itself was very nice with clean and comfortable rooms. Balcony in room, wifi was fine and plenty of hot water. However, we experienced two big issues that greatly affected our opinion of this hotel. First, we were traveling with a group and arrived on a Saturday night. It was off season so the hotel was not all close to being filled so had plenty of rooms. There was a huge party of young adults in the lobby. They were playing very loud music and just being very loud in general. I didn't think anything of it as our room was very far away on an upper floor close to the end of the hallway. In the morning though, we heard from several other members of our group that they were given rooms that were located right off the lobby and that none of them could get a minute of sleep and they all had to go to the front desk and ask to be moved. Several people said that they were not treated very well and were only moved one or two rooms down the hall which, to anyone with half a brain, would not make any difference at all to the level of noise so they had to request again to be moved. This all took quite a bit of time and they did not get much sleep that night due to it taking so long. The second BIG issue is that my husband and I chose to eat dinner at the buffet on our second night there. Thankfully, we had already made two trips to the buffet and were starting to feel as though we'd eaten enough. A local family came into the restaurant. They had 4 young children who were allowed to run absolutely wild throughout the restaurant while the parents looked on and did nothing. The worst part was that one of the children had an absolutely horrible sounding cough. He coughed continuously ... not just every once in a while, but absolutely non-stop. He was just tall enough so that his face was level with all the food on the buffet. While the restaurant manager and a waiter stood there and watched, this child was allowed to repeatedly walk by ALL the food stations, while facing them, and coughed and sneezed repeatedly all over everything. This happened multiple times and it was absolutely disgusting. The manager was even confronted by another person who was eating there who demanded that he do something about it and yet he did nothing and didn't say anything to the worthless parents. I can't stress enough how disgusting this was! This child literally was spewing spit and germs and all over the food! I feel very sorry for anyone who came in to eat after us. Needless to say, we did not make another trip to the buffet for dessert. Naturally, the next day, my husband started to come down with a bad cold. I have never seen anyone at a buffet so blatantly contaminating food like that. I realize it was a child but the fact that the parents did nothing and the staff saw what was happening and allowed it to continue really angers me. I would never recommend this hotel for this reason unless they replace their staff with people who actually care about hygiene and the

We stayed here for a week at the end of January. The hotel was very quiet being out of season but the welcome and service we received was truly excellent throughout . It certainly lived up to its 5 star rating. From the moment we first set foot in one of the most opulent and attractive entrance foyers in my long experience of hotels we knew we were in for a wonderful week and so it proved. Without exception the staff were helpful, friendly and by the end of the week we almost felt a friend of the family. All the facilities were well maintained and staffed, and being winter we particularly liked the indoor pool. The food was good, if a bit predictable, but we had some very good evenings, including an exceptional experience in the a la carte restaurant and some charming staff serving throughout the week. The animators were a very cheerful, friendly bunch despite a lack of guests but they were very helpful with advice. The bar staff helped us navigate the drinks menu , and with their help we discovered an excellent Tunisian brandy which was so good we purchased two bottles in duty free on the way home. We rarely write reviews but this hotel deserves a lot of praise. We also rarely return to hotels we have stayed in before, but we cant wait to get back to this one. John and Barbara

Loved my stay at Le Royal Hammamet. The hotel is truly majestic, you walk into the lobby and it's as if you are in an andalusian/arabian palace. I went off season and it's very relaxing. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms have all you need and are cleaned every day. The food is delicious with plenty of choice, including various local dishes, which was a particular plus for me as a foodie :) The gardens surrounding the hotel are also very beautiful and lovely to have a walk in. All in all absolutely great and I would highly recommend!!

The first 2 days were disappointing in terms of the star rating - rated as 5 star but my initial view was it should be lower rating - Mainly due to deterioration of decor in the rooms. However the staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful . Our stay was disrupted for 2 days by a huge medical convention - there were easily over 150 delegates - there was not enough space in restaurant to accommodate all of us and food ran out quickly. However, hotel redeemed itself, various Tunisian dishes, salads etc to suit all palates. Animation team were the best - Willy, chico, mario. The children’s disco was brilliant - all 3 were brilliant in engaging the kids. And they looked like they really enjoyed it too! I would definitely recommend as somewhere for families to visit. My recommendation - I would have liked more of a variety of international dishes. Overall good holiday - very nice hotel, massive - very clean.

Upon arrival were greeted with great exuberance by friendly staff and then taken to our lovely suite overlooking the pool and courtyard. The food was a culinary experience and the staff within days knew us and catered to our daily preferences. Visited the Spa and again were treated as special guests, we could have had a massage every day! When we went out for local excursions the concierge provided us with great transportation and suggestions about our destination. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

Myself and my wife arrived in Oct 2023 at 10pm and on arriving we asked to be upgraded from half board to all inclusive which we would have paid the extra for. The receptionist stated that he would get this sorted by the morning and I thought excellent. We were down to the room and this was fine and clean with a balcony and a bottle of water in the fridge. The following morning before attending for breakfast I spoke to the receptionist again ref what had been discussed the night before however due to this being a different staff member they were unaware of the request and stated they would get me a price and would be sorted. The breakfast was fine and well buffet style and we made our way to the pool and after a period of time I returned to the reception and again they seemed or acted unaware of my requests. I wasn't quite sure what was occuring and we decided we shall leave it. The television in the room stopped working and we made mention of this to a cleaner/staff member and they indicated they would get someone to look at it. This didn't happen. We attended the vending meal and we sat down with our food which there was a good variety of and cooked well. The waiter arrived and asked what we would like to drink and I stated a bottle of water and a cola. He walked away and then returned staying we had to pay. I told him this was fine and I was aware. As we continued our meal he returned stating the cost of the drinks to us as if to remind we had to pay. This all felt like somehow we had conned our way in and we're looking to defraud them for a sum of 14dinnas. We then left leaving the money on the table. This wasn't a one off this occured for the nights that we were present. On one occasion I had got up of the table to get a sweet when I was approached from the rear and asked if I had paid. We came to Tunisia as it is a Muslim country and as a Muslim when you have guests they are treated with respect love and there wellbeing is paramount a lot of time above your own. At this hotel unfortunately we didn't feel that at all. We felt like imposters after the first day and I have to say it's rare I criticise an establishment as a "person" can have an off day however this seemed to be present throughout and left us with this feeling. The only time I felt like a guest was when I asked for the transport to leave the hotel and the third/forth receptionist duly told us he would sort this out and he did promptly with a smile. I think this says it all that they are most happiest and helpful when in the process of leaving. All the above is so unfortunate as it really left us feeling a little sad as the location and hotel and amenities are good however the service and staff unfortunately do not match.

Recently, I visited Hammamat Yasmin, Tunisia with a group of colleagues. We all stayed at Hotel Le ROYAL. We found the place to be an absolute jewel in every way and we all enjoyed our stay tremendously. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean. The service was great and the staff very helpful at all levels, from the smiling porters who greeted us upon arrival to the managers of the hotels. The buffet was generous, rich and cosmopolitan. The hotel offers excellent amenities as expected from a high class 5 Star hotel, all at a very competitive price. Strongly Recommended.

When you first catch sight of your hotel your heart either sinks or you think this is alright well ours was the latter. It’s beautiful from the outside and gets better when you walk in, a very impressive lobby! Check in was fine, we were given room 1001 which on initial thoughts was good and then we went out onto the balcony, not very happy. We were boxed into a corner by the gym with a a/c going all night. So I went back the reception to ask for a change of room which they did the following day and got a room in an annex block overlooking the pool, very happy. Food was good but, like everyone has said, a bit repetitive. Pool and garden’s beautiful. It has to be said that the hotel was very quiet, just out of season, so there was no problems with sun beds etc. Beach was nice. Evening entertainment was frankly awful! Saxophone player 2 nights, organ player/singer 3 nights playing Arabic music at 300 decibels, you couldn’t hear yourself think or have a conversation , just awful!! Animation team, good bunch of lads. Very friendly, always tried to get you involved. But I have some advice and please listen to what I have to say. Sun bathing is a relaxing activity, it’s nice to have easy listening music playing quietly in the background whilst reading a book, what spoils it is you playing your preference in music, often including rap, dance etc, as loud as you can virtually all day!!! The constant boom boom thudding throughout the complex got really, really annoying! Having said that, would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely. The downsides can be easily rectified and there are many more positives.

I have mixed reviews on this hotel and I stayed for 6 nights with my family of 8 people. The environment was very family friendly and the hotel deco was very exotic and beautiful especially the outside pool area and the garden pathways. There was 5 pools in total with one indoor which was really nice, as I went off season there wasn’t many people so it was pretty empty anyways. The breakfast buffet and dinner was really good as well and the waiters and the the service staff were very friendly and welcoming. Moving to the negative points, we were shocked to find out that we had to pay for water at the hotel at dinner and in our rooms. We had to purchase water from the hotel bar or from the dining area for 6 Dirhams (around £2) every time and we’re note permitted to bring water from outside either. Considering this is a 5 start hotel, water is a necessity which should have been provided everyday free of charge. Also, there was no facilities for tea or coffee in our rooms or anywhere else through out the day, this also had to be purchased from the bar which was ridiculous! The worst part was that there was no Wi-Fi in our room at all, we had to go to the lobby to use the Wi-Fi and this was not convent at as I had to attend some remote work meetings and the lobby was not a suitable area for this. We informed the reception about this on the first day and they said their technician will come fix the issue, we reported to reception for 3 days and were informed the same thing and then ended up giving up. The bathroom facility in our rooms was also strange as there was a separate cubicle with a toilet but there was no bidet, considering it is a Muslim country this was expected. Further the sink in the toilet only had boiling water and the tap didn’t turn to the cooler side, the water was so hot that my little sister got a mild burn on her hand the first time she used it. We also reported this to the reception but they didn’t send anyone to fix the issue. Other issues included requesting bathroom slippers and extra blankets which took 2 days for the hotel to provide. One of the other major issues was the card to access our rooms didn’t work majority of the time, we kept having to go back to reception to get another card which was very inconvenient as our block was 10mins away from the reception building. Overall we had a good time however, the hotel was not the same 5 star standard in other countries we visited such as Turkey and Morocco. If we were to go back to Tunisia then we would rather try another hotel than returning here. I hope this detailed review helps other travellers decide.
