EXCEPTIONAL. I’ve been solo traveling for 6 weeks now and this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in any city or town. Truly stunning location, very very well designed hotel, and lovely underfloor heating. Best breakfast I’ve had outside of luxury hotels, great hiking nearby. Really loved my stay - kind of regret I didn’t stay any longer. Very little food around Yuanyang rice paddies, but the hotel has a good restaurant on site.

What a great location for being amongst the terraces! We splurged and got the terrace view room, and it was very nice with a great view, comfortable bed, warm blankets, and hot shower. The room has an unblocked view of the terraces. But if you don't get that room, the upstairs balcony has the very best view. But we enjoyed watching the sunrise from our bed with hot tea. Lucian is really great! He explained to us different hiking options for seeing other views. His English is really good too so you can ask him any questions about the area. He has a sweet old dog and a cute young cat. He's also available to pick you up if you get lost or have trouble getting back after sunset.
