Yufuin-Rakuyu

The environment here is tranquil and it's less than a ten-minute drive from Yufuin town. The staff are incredibly friendly and thoughtful. The meals are exquisite and delicious, with just the right portion sizes. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I was traveling with my family and booked two rooms; one was for a family with children, and the other was for adults only. After we checked in, one of the children ended up staying overnight in the adult-only room. When the staff were cleaning, they noticed signs of the child's stay. They thoughtfully moved a small step stool into the bathroom and prepared an extra set of children's yukata (Japanese robes). Their attention to detail was truly considerate and heartfelt. Definitely worth revisiting! ❤️

This onsen hotel exceeded my expectations – it was truly excellent! First off, every room has its own private onsen, offering complete privacy, so you can enjoy a hot spring bath anytime you like! The hotel environment is beautiful, perfect for taking photos. We were lucky enough to encounter snow, which was the icing on the cake! What's more, the room was fully equipped and impeccably clean! Since we visited in winter, it was incredibly thoughtful that there were heaters everywhere, even in the bathroom. We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and the food was delicious! The dishes were very unique, and you could really feel the restaurant's dedication. Extremely satisfied! The staff were excellent – friendly and approachable, making me feel right at home. Regarding transportation, we originally planned to drive, but canceled our car rental due to the weather. We took the train to Yufu Eki, pre-booked the shuttle with the hotel, and arrived in about 10 minutes! Overall, this is a highly recommended gem of a hotel! I'll definitely be back!

Because I have some dietary restrictions, the hotel was very accommodating and proactively inquired about my needs, which I appreciated. The onsen (hot spring) in the room was fantastic, but please do not refer to the room instructions regarding water temperature adjustment, as the tap water is only for cold water. If the onsen isn't hot enough, please call the front desk, and someone will come to adjust it for you. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute uphill walk from the bustling streets. There's a delicious sansho curry udon noodle shop nearby that I highly recommend! There are also some unique shops around, which I found much more interesting than the lively tourist streets. If you prefer a quiet and peaceful environment, I highly recommend this hotel!

Although it's almost 2 kilometers from the station, the hotel shuttle service made me feel luxurious from the moment I got in. The hotel also has Chinese-speaking staff, and each room has a semi-open-air bath. The rooms were very clean and bright – highly recommended! 👍
