Ibis Styles Zurich City Center

The hotel doesn’t have aircon but the window can be open, the weather outside is pretty cold during Autumn. The hotel location is amazing as just few minutes walk from the city center.

Clean, modern, comfortable, and a quick 10-minute walk to Zurich HB. Drawbacks: About a 25-minute walk to major tourist attractions. Verdict: Solid choice overall, especially for convenient transit access near the central station.

The room was quite small, and there was hardly any space left after opening the luggage. The bathroom and bed were separated only by a curtain, which offered limited privacy. During the summer, the air conditioning did not work, so I had to keep the window open at night. However, this meant that people in the restaurant below could see into the room. The bed was comfortable enough, but the wardrobe and clothes hangers were covered in dust. There was also a large mirror positioned above the bed, which felt unusual and somewhat unsafe. The location was convenient, within a 10–15-minute walk of Zurich HB Station. The route includes an underground passage with many shops and restaurants.

When we arrived I was asked to pay CHF259.90 even though I had already paid for the room upfront on Trip.com. The lady who was checking me in mentioned city tax but I questioned it and it turns out she just charged me the full price for the room. She did not check the system properly and could not see that I had already paid for the room. Another lady came to help but she did so with an extremely rude attitude and seemed like she was annoyed with both her colleague and us. She even ignored some of my questions. When checking out the same lady helped us and she was rude again. They did refund me but this took some time which meant myself and my partner were stuck in the lounge on a hot day with our heavy baggage after just getting off a long journey waiting for this to be resolved. Following that they offered a free drink/snack which we appreciated However when we got to the room we found dried blood on the toilet seat. I informed reception of it and they didn't offer any further compensation. Just an apology and had a cleaner come to clean it. The room was ok other than that and the breakfast was fine.
