If you visit Boracay, you can choose to fly to the closer Caticlan MPH Airport or the further Kalibo Airport. Caticlan seems to be a more convenient but more expensive. After your flight arrives, you can take tricycle to Tabon Port or walk 2km. Note that the boat to Boracay now leaves from Tabon Port, NOT Caticlan Port like in the past. I made a mistake by going to Caticlan Port first and realised that it is more for RORO and other marine purposes. By this mistake, I had an opportunity to see the Caticlan Town a bit. It is the last place you can stock up some food and essential items before you get on a boat to Boracay, where everything is expensive.

Our journey began with a flight from Novosibirsk to Shanghai on a scheduled S7 Airlines flight. The flight was excellent, on schedule, with no delays. Russians now have a visa-free entry into China, making visiting the country easier. We chose the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Pvg Zhuqiao by IHG for our overnight stopover. This new, modern hotel is a 30-minute drive from Pudong International Airport, and the hotel also provides a complimentary airport transfer. We then took a scheduled Cebu Pacific flight from Shanghai to Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The flight was excellent and on time. We had a four-hour connection with Cebu Pacific to Caticlan Airport, heading to Panay Island. The flight was smooth, only about an hour. Upon arrival in Caticlan, we took a tricycle to the seaport, about a 10-minute ride. Then we boarded a ferry, which took about 15 minutes to reach Boracay Island. In Boracay, we also took a tricycle to our booked hotel, Henann Lagoon Resort. The journey from landing to hotel check-in took less than an hour. Three flights, several transfers and crossings, and from cold, still snowy Siberia, we found ourselves in bright, sunny Boracay. Here's a clear algorithm to avoid getting stuck: · Exit the airport: Immediately after claiming your luggage, you'll find yourself in a small terminal. Ignore anyone offering a "transfer with a tour" or a "hotel for the night." · Road to the port: From the airport exit to the Caticlan Jetty Port is literally a leisurely 5-10-minute walk. You can rent a tricycle (a motorcycle with a sidecar), but if you only have a backpack, the walk will be even faster than finding a driver. Follow the signs or just follow the crowd of tourists with beach bags. · Port (Jetty Port): This is your checkpoint. Here you'll need to complete a short quest: 1. Pay the terminal fee: A few dozen pesos. Look for the window marked "Terminal Fee." 2. Pay the environmental fee: This is the entrance fee to Boracay Island itself. Be sure to keep the receipt! 3.
