Brixham Devon, a seaside town in southwest England
Morning: Harbour Charm and Historic Ships
Brixham Harbour: Enjoy the colorful fishing village houses and moored fishing boats, experiencing the authentic English Riviera.
Golden Hind Museum Ship: Visit the 1:1 scale replica of the historic sailing ship "Golden Hind," moored in the harbor, and learn about the stories of pirates and the Age of Exploration. Harbour Brunch: Enjoy coffee, freshly baked pastries, or the famous local fish and chips at a local café by the harbor.
Afternoon: Natural Beauty and Coastal Promenade
Shoalstone Seawater Pool: This is a historic open-air seawater tidal pool (Lido). The 53-meter-long pool is built directly onto the natural rocks of the coastline. At high tide each day, clean seawater naturally fills the pool, providing a unique experience similar to wild swimming but safer. Open free of charge from May to September each year, the pool is operated by a local charity volunteer team. Donation boxes are available on-site, and each swimmer is encouraged to donate 3 pounds (approximately 8.50 pounds for a family) to support maintenance.
Berry Head National Nature Reserve: Head to the cliffside Berry Head National Nature Reserve for stunning sea views; you might even spot dolphins or seabirds.
Breakwater Beach: Stroll along the breakwater or wade in the clear water and enjoy the coastal scenery.
Seafood Dinner: Head to the renowned Rockfish seafood restaurant to savor top-quality fresh catch unloaded that day from England's largest fishing port; you might even spot wild seals.
If you have time to stay overnight, you can join a morning Fish Market Tour to watch the fish being auctioned off after being brought ashore; the price includes breakfast at the famous Rockfish restaurant.

Brixham Torquay #travel2026
Having spent a fantastic bank holiday weekend exploring both Torquay and the historic fishing village of Brixham. Both areas are absolutely beautiful and offer the perfect coastal escape.
Torquay charms with its vibrant, Mediterranean-style marina, stunning sandy beaches, and a lively nightlife scene packed with stunning bars and great pubs.
Brixham offers a wonderful, rustic contrast. It’s a postcard-perfect working harbor surrounded by colorful cottages, historic pubs, and restaurants serving some of the freshest, most incredible seafood you will ever taste.
Whether you are looking for a stylish waterfront dinner or a relaxed pint by the boats, this region has it all. Highly recommended for a long weekend!

Brixham is not a city, but a quiet seaside town. The summer here is so beautiful that it takes your breath away. Even without a beach, there are still a large number of tourists coming to play. Before tourism became the pillar industry of Brixham, fishing and fishermen dominated the local economy. Even today, there are still fishermen going out to sea every day to catch fish. I remember there is a local fish and chips shop called RockFish, and their motto is "Tomorrow's fish is still in the sea."
My fiancé's parents and grandparents moved here after retiring, and I was fortunate enough to be invited to stay in Brixham for half a year. To be honest, while this place is beautiful, there are also some drawbacks.
careers could be found here. So it may only be suitable for tourism or vacation.
