If there’s one dish Malaysians can happily eat for breakfast, lunch OR dinner, Bak Kut Teh has to be somewhere on the list. When it comes to Bak Kut Teh, Klang is THE place to go. There are so many famous shops here that choosing one can actually be difficult. But one that I think deserves more attention is Weng Heong Bak Kut Teh. They serve both the classic soup version and the dry Bak Kut Teh, but if you ask me which one I’m ordering… DRY. ALWAYS DRY. The sauce is rich, dark and concentrated, coating the pork with loads of flavour. But what really takes it to another level for me is the dried squid. That extra savoury, umami flavour changes the whole dish. Give me a bowl of rice with this and I’m happy already. Of course, don’t ignore the soup version either! It’s comforting, aromatic and delicious—and the soup can be refilled, which makes it even better. With so many legendary Bak Kut Teh names in Klang, I feel like Weng Heong sometimes gets overlooked. The brand new food court at Aeon BBT is finally open! 🔥 It has tons of stalls like nasi lemak, pork noodles, chicken chop, Korean cuisine, Japanese cuisine, a dessert shop, and more (see photos 17-18). Today, I'm sharing my experience at their tea room 🥤🍞 The menu is super extensive. Besides tea and toast, they have specialty drinks, a sparkling series, freshly steamed buns, and flaky egg tarts. Everything looks so tempting, and after trying them, they really are delicious! 🤤 Mojito sparkling series 🫧 1️⃣ Salty & sweet sea salt plum mint 🧂☘️ A mix of salty and sweet with a hint of mint—refreshing and thirst-quenching. 2️⃣ White peach coast mint 🍑 The peach fruitiness paired with mint is super cooling on a hot day! ✨ Specialty cold drinks ☕️ I ordered the "Pandan three-layer coffee," and the layers of color are beautiful 😻 The evaporated milk blends with the pandan aroma; it's not too sweet and the taste is just right 🆗 There are 2 sets in total. We ordered: SET A 💰9.90 (photos 4-5) (add 💰1 for iced drinks) I don't really drink coffee, so I gave it to my dad 🤣 He said the coffee is very strong. Even after adding a lot of water, the coffee flavor was still very intense. If you like strong coffee, you should give it a try~ Next up is the toast. We also ordered the "flaky egg tarts." The outer layer is caramelized, the pastry is crispy, and the inside is full of egg flavor. It's really good, definitely order it 👍🏻🥧 Finally, I have to recommend the bun series that the whole family loved 🥳 It got a unanimous thumbs up from everyone ✌🏻 We ordered char siu bao (BBQ pork bun), pork bun, jicama and dried shrimp vegetable bun, big bun, golden siu mai, and glutinous rice chicken 😆 (photos 7-11) Char siu bao: The bun is soft and fluffy, the filling is generous, and the savory-sweet flavor is just right. Pork bun: Rich in meat juices, full of meaty flavor, and gets better with every bite. Glutinous rice chicken: One piece of meat + half an egg. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the rice texture is just right. Delicious! 😇 Because we were too full, we took the rest home. Just had an amazing family trip at the brand new KSL Esplanade Hotel in Klang and wow, it totally lived up to the hype! We booked their 2-Bedroom Suite for our group of four, and let me just say—this place is SO clean and everything still has that fresh-out-of-the-box vibe. Highly recommend if you love that new hotel sparkle! ✨ Room & Amenities This suite is a whole vibe. The best part? The master bathroom with an oversized bathtub that feels like your own private spa—sooo spacious and seriously luxe! The hotel hooked us up with generous toiletries, and those shower gel and shampoo scents? Obsessed! Major eco-friendly points for the huge refillable glass water bottles in every room. Soundproofing & Layout The soundproofing here is next-level. My kids were blasting their favorite shows in the next room, but our bedroom was total peace and quiet. The suite has 3 bathrooms (yes, THREE!)—there’s even a powder room in the living area, which is an absolute game changer for families. Bed & Sleep Quality Beds felt like sleeping on clouds—I’m talking seriously comfy, and we all slept like babies. Only thing I’d change? Toss in some extra pillows! Each bed comes with one, so if you’re a pillow fort type, maybe request a few more at check-in. Breakfast Breakfast was included in our rate (usually around RM 750/night, or RM 650 if you catch promos and collect Trip Coins on trip.com 🙌). While breakfast is about RM 45 per person, it’s a bit pricey if you don’t eat big. Tbh, with so many cafes and restaurants at the Esplanade shopping mall next door, it might be worth skipping and trying local eats instead! Parking & Accessibility Heads up: Parking is shared with the mall and can be a little tricky on your first try because the signs aren’t super clear. This can be a bit of a struggle if you’re hauling luggage or have little ones in tow. Also, during busy times the elevators take a minute to arrive, but they’re lightning fast once you get inside (hello, 21st floor in seconds!). Located just 5 minutes walk from the LRT3 station of Jambatan Kota Station Exit A is this lovely bak kut teh restaurant called Chow Kiat. I first ate here 30 years ago with a local friend and could not get this spot out of my head. The soup is full of collagen, nice and thick and the meat are soft and tender, good herbal aroma but yet not too salty - a perfect blend of how a good bowl of bak kut teh should taste to me. Everyone knows Klang for Bak Kut Teh, but after spending a day exploring the town, I realised there's so much more than just food. I didn't expect to enjoy Klang this much. We kicked off the morning with coffee at Black Stone Cafe, a cozy spot located near Klang’s iconic mosque. The calm ambiance and good coffee set the tone for the day. Next, we made our way to Mahona’s Restaurant for a satisfying banana leaf lunch—generous portions, bold spices, and that comforting familiarity of hearty Indian cuisine. A short drive brought us to The Brew Lab, a cool little cafe where we recharged with another round of coffee before heading to our early dinner destination. Of course, no Klang food trail is complete without Bak Kut Teh, and we had ours at the legendary Ah Her Bak Kut Teh. Rich, herbal broth and tender meat—absolutely worth the hype. Finally, the highlight of our trip: Kebun Kelapa Restaurant, famous for its fresh, succulent seafood. We indulged in two types of crab—chili crab and salt-baked crab—each flavorful in its own way. This is my third time coming to Klang. The first two times I only stopped briefly to taste the local Bak Kut Teh. But this time, I made a plan in advance and decided to come to Klang for a leisurely citywalk (Citywalk). Klang is the seat of the Selangor royal family and has a long history and rich cultural heritage. The monuments here are well preserved with almost no traces of commercialization, making it ideal for exploring on foot. Once you emerge from the KTM Klang Station, there is plenty to see around you. The main attractions we visited in Klang are as follows: 1⃣ Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Klang 📍Address: No.114, Jalan Tengku Kelana, Kawasan 1, 41000 Klang, Selangor Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Klang is very spectacular and open to the public free of charge. At dusk, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the church from the nearby overpass. 2⃣ Klang 5 Road Guanyin Pavilion 📍Address: 30, Jalan Raya Barat, Selangor Darul Ehsan, 41000 Klang, Selangor This is the oldest Chinese temple in Klang, and it looks very majestic after renovation. The caisson inside the temple is particularly beautiful and deserves a closer look. 3⃣ Klang Little India 📍Address: No.28-A, 1st Floor, Little India, Jalan Tengku Kelana, Kawasan 1, 41000 Klang, Selangor It is full of exotic customs, and the photos you take at random are very beautiful. After entering, the firefighters will take you to visit their museum, which contains firefighting records from various periods, old fire extinguishers and precious historical photos. 6⃣ Klang Royal Park 📍Address: Jalan Istana, Kawasan 1, 41200 Klang, Selangor There is a huge Keris monument (Tugu Keris) here. The Keris symbolizes strength and courage and was the sidearm of ancient Malay warriors. 7⃣ Qixiang Bak Kut Teh Every time I come to Klang, I will go to Qiao Di Bak Kut Teh shop because it is close to the KTM station. But this time the store was closed, so we used Grab to go to Qixiang Bak Kut Teh in North Klang. The taste was still great. These attractions in Klang have both historical and cultural atmosphere and strong exotic customs, making them perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable city stroll!

The Malay sword symbolizes power and courage and was the weapon of ancient Malay warriors. 7. Ki Heong Bak Kut Teh I always eat the bridge bak kut teh because it's close to the KTM station. This time it was closed, so we took a Grab to Ki Heong Bak Kut Teh in the north of Klang, which was also delicious.

#weekendgetaways A good place to unwind and spent my 'me time' here as the place is located near Shah Alam and city centre. This 5- star hotel is a good place to chill for me because I love the amenities provided and the most important thing is that the swimming pool and the gym is well mantained. The fitness centre provided basic fitness equipment and there were assistant to help me with anything. There were pool for kids and adults at different depth level and towel provided at the entrance. I love the decor as the room is full of mirror. Looks classy and expensive. Amenities: Basic amenities such as toiletries and the toilet is clean. There were a table for study and functioning well. Other thing that I love about this hotel is the lobby is huge and beautiful. There were free parking space up for two vehicles. The valet parking is available for RM20/day.
