[Oigami Onsen, Gunma] You can see the autumn leaves 🍁 from the large public bath on the first basement floor ♨️
Hotel Yamaguchiya has two large baths and open-air baths, which are switched between men and women depending on the time!!!
The large baths introduced here are available for bathing from 15:00 to 20:00 for women only, and from 20:30 to 9:30 the next morning🙆♀️
Considering dinner time, you need to check in early and take a bath!!!
I arrived around 16:30, so I quickly took a bath and then went into the hot springs while looking at the autumn leaves!!!
The temperature was a little hot, probably about 43 degrees, so I couldn't take a long bath in the indoor bath, but the open-air bath was a little warmer, so I was able to take my time🫠
The fifth photo shows the autumn leaves as seen from the open-air bath, and the colors look clearer and more beautiful with the naked eye🍁
Facial cleanser was provided, but lotion was not provided, so I recommend that you remember to bring it with you!

[Oigami Onsen, Gunma] A hotel where you can enjoy a hot spring bath while watching the beautiful autumn leaves ♨️
This is the hot spring inn where I stayed when I hiked Mt. Myogi last November!!!
I'm sorry that I'm only now introducing a lodge with autumn leaves because of the time difference...🥹
✔️Recommended points
⚫︎You can use the hot spring all night from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. the next morning♨️
※The large bath is on a rotation system for men and women, so you can't use it for about 30 minutes during that time, but you can use it all the time otherwise!!!
⚫︎The autumn leaves seen from the open-air bath are beautiful🍁
※It's probably beautiful in the season of new green leaves too!!!
⚫︎You can stay at a relatively reasonable price even on weekends.
· 2 nights and 2 meals included, starting from 22,000 yen for 2 people (according to Jalan)
⚫︎The staff are friendly and easy to talk to🙋♂️
· Other inns are also friendly and polite, but this one had a homey, friendly feel!!!
✔️Points to note
⚫︎The room seemed to get cold easily👀
It was November, so we had to use a fan heater instead of an air conditioner to keep warm, and we only had a duvet, so it was a little cold when we went to sleep.
· It was the time of year when autumn turned to winter, so it might have just been a coincidence...!!!
Other than the above, there were no issues at all.
I was very satisfied because I was able to stay for 15,000 yen per person during the autumn leaves season and on a weekend. 🫠

Visiting Fukiware Falls in Gunma Prefecture😆🔥✨
Hello 😃
This time I went to Fukiware Falls in Gunma Prefecture ✨✨
My senior lives in Gunma and took me there!
I saw a waterfall with a whirlpool in the middle of the river!
The splashes and sounds were amazing and it was overwhelming!
I also had some local beer and got drunk 🥴💥
I also had some apple ice cream!
My senior, whom I met for the first time in a while, had lost a lot of weight but I'm glad he seems to be doing well!

Gunma Fukiware Falls, featured in a historical drama!
#Fukiwarenotaki #Gunma #Numata
I came to Fukiwarenotaki in Numata, Gunma Prefecture.
The feature of this waterfall is not the volume of water or the height of the waterfall, but the gentle waterfall that can be seen from close up.
As you can see in the photo, the drop is not so high, but the water still splashes quite a bit.
Also, if you go a little further from the waterfall, you can see a magnificent river. I think the river is Katashina River, but if you know the river, please let me know in the comments.
I rented a car from Jomo-Kogen Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen and visited the area.
There are many parking lots nearby that say "this is the closest parking lot to the waterfall", which can be confusing, but you can get there quickly from any parking lot around the map, so there is no need to rush.
This place also appeared in the opening of the taiga drama "Aoi Tokugawa Sandai".

The Niagara of the East: Fukiware Falls
This is "Fukiware Falls" in Numata City, Gunma Prefecture.
Fukiware Falls is a waterfall that is 30m wide and 7m high!
It is also called the Niagara of the Orient because of its overwhelming power.
On the way from the road to Fukiware Falls,
There are souvenir shops and restaurants lined up 🏘
There is a promenade around the waterfall, so you can go around it ◎
As soon as you arrive at the riverside, "Masutobi Falls" suddenly appears!
Fine water sprays fly and it feels cool and refreshing ✧
As you walk along the promenade, you will see a large rock 🪨
There is "Hannya Rock", a large depression that looks like an open-mouthed Hannya!
After passing Hannya Rock, finally!
The huge Fukiware Falls come into view ༄
Waterfalls of this shape are rare and really impressive!!

The Magic of Gunma's Fukiware-no-Taki Waterfall.
Venturing to the "Niagara of Japan" 🌊 The Magical Fukiware-no-Taki Waterfall in Gunma Prefecture!
If you're a nature lover yearning for "pure, unfiltered nature" without the distraction of trendy cafes, this is the place for you. Fukiware-no-Taki is the most famous waterfall in Gunma Prefecture, earning the well-deserved nickname the "Niagara of Japan" or the Niagara of the East!
✨ A Marvel Carved by 10,000 Years of Time
What makes this waterfall so special isn't its height—it's only 7 meters tall—but its impressive 30-meter width! Carved by the natural erosion of rock over 10,000 years, a massive V-shaped fissure was formed. Water from the flat riverbed cascades down into the crevice from multiple directions—some flowing straight, others swirling and crashing against the rocks before converging below. It's a wildly powerful and unique sight unlike any other waterfall in Japan, rightfully earning its designation as a National Natural Monument.
🍂 The Must-Visit Season
While it's gorgeous year-round, the absolute peak time to visit is during autumn (mid to late October). The forests surrounding the valley ignite in vibrant shades of orange and red, striking a breathtaking contrast with the emerald waters. There are nature trails that allow you to admire the waterfall from various vantage points. Trust me, it's a photographer's dream!
🚌 How to Get There (Solo Travel Friendly)
Getting here is much easier than you might think. Here are the routes we took:
Route 1: From JR Numata Station (Joetsu Line), hop on a bus for about 40-45 minutes and get off at the Fukiware-no-taki stop.
Route 2: From Jomo-Kogen Station, catch the Kan-etsu Transportation bus at bus stop No. 2 (bound for Oshimizu). It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes; you'll also get off at the Fukiwarenotaki stop.
I did this trip entirely solo and was absolutely blown away by the sheer magnitude of nature's power. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and just listen to the sound of rushing water crashing against the rocks in Gunma, I guarantee it will fill your heart with joy!

A spectacular 6.5 meter Tengu mask!
Gunma Prefecture, home to Japan's largest collection of Tengu masks 👺
"Miroku-ji Temple, Ryugein Temple, Mount Kasha
It's about a 40-minute drive up the mountain road from Numata Interchange.
Be careful in winter, as the snow can get deep. 🚘
It's a quiet temple, but you can really feel the power of the mountain!
When visiting Mount Kasha, it's customary to borrow a Tengu mask from Nakamine-do Temple and return home.
The next time you visit, you can take the borrowed mask,
and then purchase a new mask from the shop at the temple, present it to the temple,
and then borrow another mask.
I personally buy a new Tengu mask from the shop at the foot of the mountain every year before heading to the temple. (Note: There's only one shop.)
It's also fun choosing your favorite 👺 from the many masks on display at Nakamine-do Temple. 😊 I also bring home a seed coin 💸
I display it with the 👺.

Former Ukebata Family Residence in Numata Park
Visit the former Ukebata Family Residence located in Numata Park, Gunma Prefecture. This merchant house was built in the mid-Edo period (around the late 17th century). The Ukebata family traditionally dealt in medicines. Originally located in the downtown area of the city, it was relocated to Numata Park in 1973. Free parking is available at the park, but you will need to walk a short distance from the parking lot.
Admission is 110 yen. The house is a two-story structure with a gabled roof covered in wooden shingles and stone weights. It measures slightly over 10 meters in width and just under 20 meters in depth, with an eave at the front. The front side served as a shop, and medicine cabinets still line the walls. Behind the shop are living spaces, including a tea room, dining room, study, and other rooms. The house is spacious with many rooms but has no windows. There are explanatory panels and displays of items used in the past throughout the house.
Within the premises, there is also a museum exhibiting collections owned by the Ukebata family, including items from the first publicly elected mayor of Numata Town.
Numata Park, where the residence is located, was built on the site of Numata Castle. The castle was abandoned following the abolition of the Numata Domain due to the dismissal of the Sanada clan in the late Edo period (late 17th century). Unfortunately, there are almost no remnants of the castle left.

A famous waterfall, approximately 30 meters wide and 7 meters high.
River water cascades down through a V-shaped cleft in the rock, drawing in the river water.
The powerful roar of the waterfall, splashing everywhere, is truly impressive.
It's also known as the Niagara Falls of the East, and has been designated a National Natural Monument.
The interweaving of the seasons, from the fresh greenery of spring to the changing leaves of autumn, is truly spectacular.
At the end of the waterfall,
the "Hannya Rock" seems to be waiting with its mouth wide open,
and it's a truly moving work of art created by nature.

Until the end of September! Let's go eat some delicious sweetfish!
[Ayuchaya Tomoe]
I look forward to sweetfish dishes every year.
Until now, I'd have to go all the way to Tochigi to eat them,
but now I can eat them in Gunma too!
Gunma is closer to Tokyo, so I recommend it! 😊
Kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot), sashimi, salt-grilled sweetfish, overnight dried sweetfish, sweet and sour sweetfish, etc.
If you're going all the way there,
be sure to order the full set!❣️
The salt-grilled sweetfish is delicious, even down to the bone!🤤 #AyuDishes
