In the cellars of wineries, they taste Neuer Süsser, a light, sparkling wine from the new harvest. 🎉 Festivals. In Ribeauvillé, the Pfifferdaj minstrel festival takes place, and in Eguisheim, there are young wine fairs. 🌤️ Weather. +19…+20°C—perfect for excursions and hikes, for example, to the Château de Haut-Koenigsbourg. 🍽️ Food. Winstub serves Tarte flambée, which pairs perfectly with the new-vintage Riesling. 🗺️3-Day Itinerary by Public Transport Day 1. Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle and Sélestat 🌤️Morning: Take the TER train from Colmar to Sélestat (15 minutes, €5-6). Navette du Haut-Kœnigsbourg bus (line 500) to the castle. A €3 ticket gives a ~50% discount on admission. ☀️Afternoon: Tour of the 12th-century castle and lunch at a tavern. The views of the vineyards are spectacular. Return to Sélestat and a stroll through the town. 🌅 In the evening, take the train back to Colmar. Day 2. Riquewihr and Kaysersberg These villages have no train stations and are accessible by bus from Colmar (line RO16 from Colmar station). 🌤️ Morning in Riquewihr. Photo walk, tasting at Hugel & Fils 🚌 Afternoon: Transfer by bus to Kaysersberg, walk along the river, view of the castle tower, lunch: onion pie and Gewürztraminer. 🌅 Evening: Return by bus to Colmar. Day 3. Eguisheim and Rouffac 🌤️ Morning: To Eguisheim by bus (line RO30 from Colmar train station) or taxi (10 minutes, €15–20). Walk through the "round village," tastings in wine courtyards, photos near half-timbered houses. 🚌 Afternoon: Transfer to Rouffac (taxi/bus). Walks and organic wine tasting at Domaine Muré. 🌅 Evening: Return to Colmar by train This route will allow you to see Alsace from different perspectives: from the most famous sights to cozy corners where the region's true atmosphere lives on.

Rouffach is a quaint little town tucked away in the Alsace region of eastern France, just a single train stop away from the well-known Colmar. It's an incredibly rustic place with only one supermarket in the entire town. There are plenty of bed and breakfasts here, so I booked a B&B and cooked my own dinner every day. During the French summer, the sun doesn't set until around 10 PM, so I naturally ate dinner quite late. My daily routine was laid-back: I'd sleep in until about 11 AM, then head out to explore. Traveling south to Mulhouse, you're only about a 20-minute train ride away from Basel, Switzerland, which means there are tons of great spots to visit. Around 6 PM, I’d wander back to the B&B to start prepping dinner. Life there was wonderfully leisurely.

This calm wine growers’ village has only 4100 inhabitants and there is not much to do. Do there are no other tourists, However it is worth a visit since the hotels are great and there are also restaurants of all prices.
