The new hotel Segara at Ayana Bali is absolutely stunning! The two pools are incredibly amazing

Ayana is really the behemoth of hotel complexes in Bali—the entire area is so large that shuttle buses are needed. I've been here three times before, staying at the Ayana Resort and Villas Bali, Ayana Resort and Spa Bali, and Rimba Jimbaran Bali by Ayana. This time I'm staying at the newly opened in 2022, Segara at Ayana Bali. The new hotel's design is based on the traditional tropical resort, infused with a strong local flavor and a unique spatial experience. Segara is the highest hotel in the entire Ayana complex, situated at the intersection of forest and ocean, set against the backdrop of natural beauty. Through the use of local textures and various materials, cultural elements are integrated. The architectural form is inspired by the undulating rice terraces of Ubud, cleverly utilizing the terrain of the site to present an organic fluidity, including an aerial view of the main pool surrounded by bougainvillea, which also makes the architectural curves look more lively and interesting. The hotel rooms are set up in a non-traditional, non-linear fashion around three public courtyards, to allow guests to see as much of the beauty of Jimbaran Bay as possible. Multiple spaces and facilities that connect indoors and outdoors, such as the rooftop platform designed with a rice terrace landscape in mind, which overlooks the most spectacular sunsets on the island, also serve as an infinity pool and rooftop bar, blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape. The interaction and combination of these indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as the natural and abstract landscape features, enrich the spatial relationships between architectural forms—allowing guests to transcend the architecture itself and appreciate even more of nature's charm.
