Largest and Oldest Market

Central Market Hall is located at 1-3 Vamhaz krt. 1093 Budapest, and is open Monday to Friday from 0600-1800, Saturday from 0600-1500, close on Sunday. It is only a minute walk from Fovam ter metro station (Line 4). The Central Market Hall was constructed in 1894 and opened to the public in 1897. It is the largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest, and is favoured not only by tourists, but many locals do their everyday shopping here too. On the ground floor, you will find extoic fruits, vegetables, salami, goose liver cans and many more for you to discover. The upper floor attracts lots of tourists because of the rich selection of Hungarian embroidery, white peasant shirts and other art and craft souvenir products. If you are hungry during your visit, there are some food stands on this level to enjoy some of the local cuisines.
