Small Big Town

Burlington is actually the largest city in the state of Vermont. However, for many people from large cities, it will ressemble a small town, which makes it a nice day trip. You won't find much in this town but it's still nice to stroll around and explore. The main pedestrian artery is Church Street Marketplace, which is really a pedestrian shopping corridor that spans several blocks. Especially when the weather is nice, it's quite nice to walk around and to do some shopping. You'll also find several historic storefronts, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. At the end of the street, you'll also find Unitarian Church, which acts almost like a symbol for the city. Burlington is also a college town so you can also make a visit to the University of Vermont and have a look around its campus. Being on the shores of Lake Champlain also affords you with plenty of opportunities for water activities and nice viewed of the lake. Overall, Burlington is a nice town that's really relaxing.
