To visit this canyon, I made a special trip to Chongqing

⭐️ I have to say, a 5A-level scenic spot really has something special! The key is that there are not many people, and Wulong definitely exceeded expectations. ⭐️ The full name of the scenic spot is 'Wulong Karst Scenic Area,' located in Wulong County, 195km east of Chongqing city. ⭐️ The scenic area is divided into two core attractions: Tiankeng (Three Natural Bridges) and Difeng (Longshui Gorge). It is recommended to visit both attractions together. The advantage of Difeng is that it is cool, almost like entering the underground, offering a very unique experience. It was also formed by water erosion over time. The scenic area has everything: canyons, waterfalls, forests, strange rocks, and boardwalks. The normal tour time is about 1 hour, with no backtracking, as there is only one path to the end. 🚥 Transportation: There are direct buses from the main urban area to the scenic spot. Wulong also has a train station, but there are limited departures from Chongqing each day, so remember to buy tickets in advance. 🏨 Food and Accommodation: There is no food available inside the scenic area, only small shops and local specialties at the exit. So, it is recommended to bring some food and water yourself. For accommodation, stay in Fairy Mountain Town, which has plenty of lodging and restaurants. 🍃 Attraction Introduction: 1️⃣ Tiankeng: Magnificent and rugged, it has been a filming location for Zhang Yimou's movies and Western blockbusters, making it more well-known. The entire route is downhill steps, not tiring at all. 2️⃣ Difeng: Our group and passersby all found Difeng 'more interesting.' Each section of the path has its own characteristics, with a bit of 'half-hidden beauty.' The surprises you discover through your own exploration are even more delightful. Although the steps go up and down, making it more tiring than Tiankeng, it is also more fun. 🗺️ Tour Sequence: Visitor Center - Bus to Tiankeng - Elevator - Tour Tiankeng - Electric car or 15-minute walk to Tiankeng exit - Bus to Difeng - Tour Difeng - Bus back to Visitor Center (total time 3-4 hours) ⚠️ Practical Tips: 1️⃣ There is very little food and drink available inside the scenic area, especially at the visitor center, so bring some with you. 2️⃣ In summer, bring a raincoat, shoe covers, or waterproof shoes to Difeng, as there are waterfalls and streams, and the ground can be slippery. 3️⃣ After touring Tiankeng, you can take an electric car to the Tiankeng exit for 15 yuan per person. If you are not tired, you can walk, and there are small shops along the way where you can have snacks and drinks. It is best to wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. 4️⃣ You can tour both Tiankeng and Difeng in half a day. 5️⃣ Either take a bus from the visitor center to Difeng or take a bus to Difeng after touring Tiankeng. The tickets include the regular elevator and scenic area buses. 6️⃣ During the flood season, the scenic area may close due to high water levels, which can be dangerous. Check the weather in advance before traveling. 7️⃣ You can buy tickets in advance for 105 yuan, or buy a package ticket, which is more cost-effective.
