That Waikiki Vibe

#freehotelstay Our second stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki in 4 years. This time we chose the Rainbow tower balcony room for completely unobstructed views of the beach and Diamond Head. During our 9 day stay we ate at almost all locations at the resort (plus local spots near by) and booked the Waikiki Starlight Luau that Hilton offers. All the staff I encountered were really wonderful. Polite, kind, and very helpful. The rooms are showing their age. Incredibly high volume in and out means little time for upgrades and repairs but it’s time now—especially noticeable going back 4 years later. Elevators are horrendous!!!!! Brace yourself for long waits at peak times ESPECIALLY if there is a large scale event going on. Some days we were waiting 10 minutes or more and then would switch to the service elevators (after being shown where they are after several complaints). While most have done away with resort fees, this Hilton keeps going with them—$50 a day for……well I don’t know what. You still need to pay for an umbrella, chair, and other beach items. Towels are included in your fee, sooo that’s $50 value I suppose. But what you get at this hotel is location: the secluded end of Waikiki with more space on the beach than other spots. Lots of on resort shops and eating. Very useful after an extremely long day when everyone is exhausted. No need to fight about where to eat. And great service with multiple dedicated activity desks making it easy to get everyone to Pearl Harbor, Golden circle island tour, killer Atlantis submarine activity , and multiple helicopter tours. #Hiltonhawaiianvillage #Hawaii #Hilton
