SURABAYA BROMO 205Km/2000m Cycling challenge

Surabaya-Bromo cycling Experience Roundtrip... 205km 2000m elevation gain. Losing full 2kg 108->106kg during the trip. I consume 2 gel and 1 power bar, 6 Snickers, 5 Liter of water, and 1 cup of infamous POP MIE for the whole climbing trip (I know it's a lot, with my body weight, i guess it's necesary). I have to admit it is not an easy climb ranging 8-13% for most of the last 20km climb. Last 1.5km is the scary part averaging at 16%. The climb and gradient will kill you MENTALLY, muscle cramp will kill you MENTALLY, feel of hunger will kill you MENTALLY. So really, your worst enemy would be your MENTAL PREPAREDNESS. I haven't mention the heat, yeah i guess the heat is what most people complaining about, luckily during the duration of this ride, i didn't see our sun at all, it's definitely an advantage. So i guess that would add up as a mental challenge as well. Here's my word of advice for those of you who want to try the challenge. I'm probably the worst climber due to my weight. It's a disadvantage on my part, believe me I know, it is as hard as you could imagine. i tried to lose as much weight as I can. So yeah, lose weight people! I always mention Mental mental and mental. I don't think i would be able to finish the challenge if my friend Reggie left me alone, climbing on my own, I was the last person to finish the climb, and regie kept pushing me time after time. So find a right partner. You'll be a happier person during the climb. Muscle cramp is another whole level of mental test during the climb. Luckily I didn't experience any muscle cramp AT ALL. How? What i learn is to DRINK WATER A LOT to prevent muscle cramp. Some people drink max 1.5Liter (2bidon) during the whole climbing. It really depend on your physique. Rule of thumb, if you notice the first sign of muscle cramp, drink a lot. How much is 'a lot'? Again, depend on your physique. I drink at least 500ML or 1 full bidon. Considering this much water i need to carry, I carried water bladder with 2 liter capacity. Beating the gradient. know your strength, choose the right gear, i'm not ashamed to admit i need 34 chainring, and 32 or even 34 cassette. But remember, too light could also drain you faster. Don't get carried away with someone with higher pace, find your own pace! You have a long way climb ahead of you. Bring enough gel or power bar or even snickers, without it i'd have been done for the day. #travelling a It's a long climb, your back will hurt a lot. Do some stretching if you feel back pain on/off the bike. take it one step at a time, find a great partner, drink enough water by then you should be able to finish #bromo100km #challenge #beautifulclimbbeautifulchallenge. BUT HEY!!! if I, a guy with body weight of 108kg (106kg after the ride) can do bromo ROUND TRIP of 205km, so could you!! 😉😉 RIGHT!! IMHO.... IMHO...
