Zhu Kezhen's former residence during his time in Meicheng

The former site of Zhejiang University's westward relocation is located at No. 153, Fuqian Road, Meicheng Town, Jiande City. During the Anti-Japanese War, it served as the temporary residence for Zhu Kezhen, the president of Zhejiang University, and his family, and was also used as a teaching site. Zhu Kezhen's old house was built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. On the east side, there are two one-story classrooms, north and south. The eastern entrance hall was constructed during the Republic of China period, with a Western style, built with green bricks, and supported by four columns. The central entrance features a mountain flower decoration, a rather uncommon and distinctive architectural feature, making it a rare example of a Republic of China era entrance hall. On the west side is the two-story wooden structure where Zhu Kezhen lived at the time, built during the Qing Dynasty, simple yet exquisite in design.
