Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion, the hotel I stayed in Kyoto, is really great. The location is too good, quiet in the midst of the hustle and bustle. The hotel is opposite to the Jianye Temple, a large temple. The air is very good in the morning. You can walk to the scenic spot Hanami Lane through the Jianye Temple. Hanami Lane is a pedestrian street where geishas used to walk, and now it is full of small shops and restaurants. The hotel is on a small road next to a main road. Turn right out of the hotel and walk to the main road, then keep going and you can go to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Design The design of the hotel, the gate is almost the same style as other residential hotels in Kyoto, but once you enter, it's a different world. It's modern but not too modern, it's retro but not completely retro, the two styles can blend together seamlessly. The sunken space allows the floor-to-ceiling glass in the lobby to reveal a green view all at once. Room The hotel's room space is really large, what's special is that the washstand and the room are semi-open, next to a one-piece bar, which gives me the illusion of an art display. The room is really super satisfying, big and comfortable, and you can see the Higashiyama of Kyoto. The hotel itself has a public bath, where you can enjoy the plant view behind a large floor-to-ceiling glass while soaking in the bath, which is very relaxing. Food Breakfast is a Japanese buffet breakfast, in cooperation with the neighboring Entoku. The coffee served for breakfast comes from Kyoto's old coffee, super delicious! It feels like the best coffee I've ever had in Kyoto! The ingredients for breakfast are also some tofu and vegetables that I don't usually eat, and the tempura provided by Entoku is very crispy and refreshing, and you won't taste the flour of the fried clothes at all. Matcha fruit and brown sugar fruit are desserts but not sweet at all, beyond expectations. Service The staff's English is very good, communication is smooth and unimpeded. I told the front desk that the hotel's fragrance smells good, and asked if they have it for sale. They immediately gave me a box, saying it was the seasonal limited 'Mountain Purple Water Clear', which is a paper fragrance in cooperation with Kyoto's famous paper specialty store. Just need to drop the essential oil on the petals, let the fragrance slowly spread out. After the check-in was completed, the waiter sent us into the elevator, and they were still bowing outside the door until the elevator door closed. Surroundings It's very close to Hanami Lane, Yasaka Shrine, Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka from the hotel, just a few minutes' walk. It's also very convenient to take a bus to Arashiyama and Nijo Castle from the nearby bus station.
