Arctic Shoal

Arctic Shoal is located on the shoal island on the side of the main channel of Heilongjiang in the northernmost part of China, with the Heilongjiang River flowing past and facing Russia across the river. The scenery of the shoal in summer is also exceptionally beautiful and charming. In 1958, Arctic Village experienced the largest flood in history. After the flood, many rivers changed their course and the shoal was formed. Today, the ground is still mainly fine sand, which is because the lighter black soil was washed away by the flood.
