Nara Park, where deer greets with a bow

There is a place in Japan, called Nara, about an hour away from Osaka/Kyoto, where you can see herds of deer roaming around the streets and parks. Statistics has estimated that there are approximate 1200 Sika deers living around the area. Established in 1880, this park is one of the oldest in Japan and while preserving the ecosystem, the municipal has decided that area to be designated where humans and deers co-live together. Tourists can purchase deer crackers from street peddlers from various spots within the park, but beware not to tease them as the deers are wild and could be agitated due to teasing. Do remember to treat them with respect as deer is considered a sacred animal to local residence in Nara. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers
