As you step into this time-honored chef's restaurant in Huizhou, what catches your eyes is a traditional style of decoration, filled with the rich cultural atmosphere of Huizhou. A few elderly chefs stand behind the counter with beaming smiles, warmly welcoming every guest, making them feel at home with an overwhelming sense of kindness. We ordered several traditional Huizhou dishes, and soon we were surrounded by the fragrant aroma of the food. The first dish to be served was a bowl of stewed soup noodles, with chicken broth that had been simmering for a long time, exuding a rich and sweet taste that hit the nose, paired with chewy and springy noodles, making it an excellent appetizer. Next was a dish favored by the royal family - ginger rice chicken. A golden and shiny ginger juice baked chicken was brought to the table, crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. The most impressive dish to me was the last Huizhou side dish - fragrant dry-fried vegetable hearts. A simple plate of greens emitted an enchanting aroma, and the taste was crisp and refreshing, a unique local delicacy. Sitting in such a time-honored restaurant and savoring the food, one not only enjoys the unique local flavors of Huizhou but also experiences the profound cultural heritage of its cuisine. The smiling faces of the elderly chefs seem to condense and convey this philosophy of food through each dish, creating a unique cultural feast that is unforgettable.
