Shicheng Village, a low-key ancient village by the Dian Lake, is known as the 'City of Stones'

Shicheng Village is adjacent to Haiyan Village and Duqu Village. As the name implies, 'Shicheng' means 'City of Stones', located in the heart of the ancient Dian Kingdom, named for the abundance of rocks in the area. It is said that many exquisite stone carvings within the ancient Dian Kingdom's capital were crafted by artisans from here. The area was once surrounded by fragrant rice paddies and had rich fisheries and beautiful waters, serving as a site for the ancient Dian Kingdom to store 'military provisions' and process food. The nickname 'Food City' also has a historical record due to the storage, collection, distribution, and processing of grain, which is confirmed by the numerous stone mills, grinding stones, and mill ruins excavated. Local specialties such as 'aged fish sauce', 'pea powder', and 'Shicheng pickles' have long been famous throughout central Yunnan. I wish to borrow the wind chimes of ancient Dian to sway with the tides of flowers by Dian Lake; to see Shicheng once again with its barns full of rice, waters rich with fish, and flowers blooming splendidly.
