Edmonton River Valley Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
What a leisurely place this is/River Valley Park
Canada's Edmonton River Valley Park (RiverValley) is the largest urban park in North America, making Edmonton the Canadian city with the largest per capita green space.
The River Valley Park system includes numerous small parks, some fully equipped, and others undeveloped and suitable for activities like camping.
The park runs through the entire city, totaling 110 km2 of green space, containing 11 lakes, 14 ravines, and 22 major parks.
It's been a long time since our family strolled through a park together, a rare half-day of leisure, hand in hand, exploring the largest urban park in North America.
We took an Uber to the zoo and entered the River Valley Park from the north bank of the river.
The meandering North Saskatchewan River flows through, and in keeping with Canadians' love for outdoor sports, one can always see kayaks and speedboats on the river, with single and four-person kayaks swiftly skimming the surface, and speedboats zipping through the water.
Walking along the riverside path, the scenery is endlessly beautiful, with lush trees on both banks, verdant and dripping with vitality.
The river water is slightly turbid after the rain, winding away, sparkling under the bright sunshine.
Because the river valley is so vast, as you walk, you move from one park to another, each with its own characteristics, but all share the commonality of beautiful scenery and vibrant life.
Some parks have huge lawns where people like to hold gatherings on holidays, with RVs and tents set up, and from afar, the sound of lively crowds can be heard.
Some have golf courses, and in the River Valley Park, there are many public and private golf courses. During the summer in Edmonton, with long days and short nights, golf enthusiasts can play from early morning until midnight.
Some parks are full of blooming flowers, suitable for both near and far, attracting many people to walk and walk dogs. Westerners are often seen, usually offering a friendly greeting before hurrying on. The dogs, curious and of various sizes and breeds, often stop to sniff around you before leaving at their owner's call. Some even stand on their hind legs, leaning on you with their front paws, sniffing until you pat their heads gently, then they leave satisfied.
There are also some parks with barbecues and tables and chairs under the trees and in the dense woods, free for citizens to gather with family or friends.
Crossing the bridge to the south bank, there are wooden chairs among the dandelions, where one can sit for a moment, listen to the wind and birds, and quietly observe the river and forest.

Edmonton Valley Zoo Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
After spending two days in Edmonton, a simple and quiet little city, I came to know that it is the fifth largest city in Canada and the capital of Alberta. There are more than 600 bisons in the Elk Island National Park near
Edmonton, but it is a pity at noon. Only one is swaying at the door. We all suspect that the staff
squirrel is not rare, but the eyes are white. Squirrel have you seen it!
The last hour of kayaking, the first time I tried a single person, it was a bit swaying.
Back to the city in the afternoon, the balance car experience is quite cool, you can consider a contemporary step tool.
