Bingzhongluo, the treasure destination in my heart/This homestay is amazing
🌧 I have to say that the air in the mountains is really good, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, it is refreshing and it is indeed a place where humans and gods coexist!!
🏠 It has beautiful natural scenery and unique ethnic culture. The room type we stayed in is 'Seeking Clear·180° Viewing King Bed Room', which is a 180° viewing king bed room on the edge of the valley. The room is equipped with Dyson hair dryer, Marshall Bluetooth speaker, custom high-end latex mattress and bathtub, etc. You can see that a lot of thought has been put into every detail.
🪴 The view from the homestay terrace is super good, you can overlook the entire valley, snow mountain~ The photos are also very good~ Waking up in the early morning with the birdsong and drizzle, and then tasting a cup of tea, it is really comfortable.
🍜 The room comes with breakfast, if you want to have dinner at the homestay, you need to book a meal with the homestay in advance~ It is recommended to drive by yourself for convenience.
⚠ The road up the mountain has many sharp turns, be careful to drive carefully, and those who are prone to motion sickness should prepare in advance~
🎐 In summary: This place is very suitable for friends who want to find a quiet place to relax in their spare time, and can have a close contact with nature~ This homestay is also selected as a national B-level tourist homestay! It's really great!

A relaxing weekend healed by the mountains, at the Bincenluo Treasure Homestay
With my sister, we found a secluded homestay in the mountains
Hiding in the mountains of Yunnan Bincenluo
Spent a lazy weekend full of relaxation
-
A designer homestay built in the mountains
Every step is a different view
Swimming pool, tea room, restaurant, terrace are all available
Stay here for the weekend,
Admire the snow-capped mountains, gaze into the distance,
Chat with the housekeeper about interesting stories of the homestay
Take a refreshing bath and then go to sleep peacefully,
Really love this relaxed and empty feeling.
-
The room type chosen is with a bathtub and 180-degree surround,
Pulling open the curtains is a full view of greenery,
All the troubles were dissolved at that moment.
Lazily lying on the sofa, flipping through miscellaneous books,
The floor-to-ceiling window outside is the forest swaying in the wind.
At that moment, I really want to freeze time,
Even if I can enjoy it for one more minute, I would be happy enough.

Yunnan's most unmissable secret road
As early as the National Day of 2022 when I drove to Yunnan, I planned to drive around Yunnan on the newly built Deqin Road, but at that time the road construction time on the announcement board was extended, so I didn't make it. Four months later, during the Spring Festival of 2023, I finally got my wish‼️
🚗Self-driving loop

🌟The most essence section of the journey
Diqing (National Highway 214)➡️Deqin Road➡️Nujiang (National Highway 219)
🛣️Old National Highway 214|The old road to Tibet is still worth it
On the way from Shangri-La to Deqin, there is a section of the old National Highway 214, which was an important route from Yunnan to Tibet. After the new National Highway 214 was built, this old national highway was downgraded to Provincial Highway 236, from an altitude of over 3000 to 4292 meters, you can enjoy the Baima Snow Mountain, the cascading roads and grassland vegetation at close range, and you can see the Meili Snow Mountain in front when the weather is good. The drive to Baima Snow Mountain Pass is the highest road section in Yunnan, and it is also the border between Deqin and Shangri-La.
🛣️Deqin Road|Difficult and beautiful
The construction of Deqin Road started at the end of 2009. It is an important road connecting Diqing Tibetans and Nujiang Lisu. The completion of this road also means that the large loop of Yunnan tourism is finally opened, and there is no need to detour. It is more convenient to go from Yunnan to Sichuan!
The Peacock Mountain Tunnel was the most difficult section during the construction of Deqin Road. It used to have to cross the Peacock Mountain Pass at an altitude of 3800 meters. Due to the harsh climate and perennial snow, it was affected by heavy snow from December to June every year and had to be closed, making the road impassable. Now that the Peacock Mountain Tunnel is open, it only takes less than three kilometers and an altitude of 3400 meters to drive through easily.
🛣️National Highway 219|The picturesque mountains and rivers
When I first saw this border line National Highway 219, I was a bit surprised. There are at least 200 kilometers of artificial sightseeing trails built along the road, with picturesque Bingzhongluo and the first bay of the Nujiang River. Continue north along Bingzhongluo to Tibet.
National Highway 219 runs from north to south through the entire Nujiang Prefecture, with the Biluo Snow Mountain and Gaoligong Mountain on both sides of the river, forming a canyon landscape. There are many places to stop along the way, especially like sitting by the rolling waves of the Nujiang River, and taking pictures casually is very cinematic!

Nujiang
Nujiang is really so beautiful! The people of Nujiang are really so kind! Everyone should take a trip to Nujiang!
Most of the information online is about self-driving tours to Nujiang, but our itinerary includes Deqin and Shangri-La, which might have uncertain road conditions and we were worried about traffic jams, so we chose public transportation. The Aru Laka trek allows you to see the Gaoligong Mountains and Biluo Snow Mountain, and you can enter the primitive forests with thick snow, where you can see alpine pastures. Our guide, Brother A Luo, was very responsible, explaining various plants along the way, highly recommended!
During the trek to Wuli Village, we saw a small path that led down to the banks of the Nujiang River, where we could feel the surging waters up close, which was very impressive. There are many rocks to climb along the riverbank, so be careful and don't go too close to the river, safety first.
We took a local's ride-sharing car on the Deqin Highway to Deqin, and saw the stunning snow scenery along the way, but the road conditions are variable, so if you're driving yourself, be sure to prepare anti-skid chains and have enough experience driving on icy roads and in snow. Our driver was also super nice!
When we were desperate to find food in Bingzhongluo, a sister by the roadside recommended Yunnan Jianjiang, which has a great environment. On the third floor rooftop, you can see the reflection of the Nujiang River and snow mountains while drinking coffee. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable, highly recommended! They also offer accommodation, and I definitely want to stay there next time I go to Bingzhongluo.
CHEYENNE MCCORMICK
The gods and humans dwell together in Bingzhongluo
Angry River originates from Tibet, flows through Yunnan into Myanmar, and finally empties into the Indian Ocean. The section in Tibet is called 'Nachu River', and in Myanmar, it is known as 'Salween River'.
We traveled north along the Angry River for three days, from Lushui City to Laomudeng Village in Fugong County, and then to Bingzhongluo in Gongshan County.
On the third day, we arrived at Bingzhongluo in Gongshan County.
G219 is well-maintained, with a cycling lane provided all the way, offering an experience of a section of Bingzhongluo. After crossing the Yunnan-Tibet border into Linzhi Chayu County, the road turns into a dirt track. Vehicles coming from the Tibet section to Yunnan are covered in mud. Landslides, falling rocks, and debris flows are the norm here, and it is really not recommended to visit during the rainy season.
Here, villages are called 'XX Luo' or 'XX Tong', depending on whether the Nu, Lisu, or Tibetan ethnic groups are the majority in the village; some are called 'Luo' and some 'Tong'. Trek through the ancient tea-horse road of Wuli Village, Qiunatong, overlooking the first and second bends of the Angry River. This place is known as where gods and humans dwell together, probably referring to the peaceful coexistence of multiple ethnicities and religions.
NIXON SMITH
Bingzhongluo Wulicun
Wulicun, also known as 'Wenglicun', are both transliterations of the Nu language, not to say that it is always foggy here.
The small village has only a few dozen households, backed by mountains, facing the Nu River, large green grasslands, the Tea Horse Road carved on the cliffs, and even beautiful homestays, all of which make up the fairy-tale beauty of Wulicun.
Many people just take a few photos on the viewing platform on the other side of the river and leave, it's a pity to come all the way through mountains and rivers!
The correct way to enter the village should be to walk into the village from the Tea Horse Road, and then leave the village from the suspension bridge in Figures 15 and 16.

Yunnan-Tibet Trip 23
2023.09.16 Arrived at Longyuan Village, Derung Ethnic Township at 08:15 in the morning. The Derung is a unique ethnic group in Yunnan. 25 years ago, I came to Yunnan to shoot the special film 'Chinese Ethnic Sports', but unfortunately had to give up because there was no road to reach here. Today, I finally got my wish to come here. The Derung people call themselves 'Derung', and they are also known as 'Qupa', 'Qulo', etc. They mainly live in the Derung River Basin in Gongshan Derung and Nu Autonomous County, and they are the earliest masters of the Derung River area. The Derung people originally had the custom of primitive group marriage, which no longer exists. Both men and women have loose hair, and young girls have the habit of tattooing their faces. The Derung people believe that everything has a spirit and worship natural objects. When we entered Longyuan Village, we were fortunate to take photos with the tattooed grandmother in the village. Today, this village is also one of the central government's fiscal transfer projects in border areas. The scattered and staggered uniform-shaped houses of the villagers are neat and unique. Dulong River 'Little Switzerland'
Dulong River 'Little Switzerland', the Derung people, who stepped from primitive society into modern civilization, were not photographed until 1923. Now there are beautiful chalets and 5G signals here, my country is really amazing!
This is Longyuan Village, Dulongjiang Township. Many nearby villages are as beautiful as here. Each village has a two-story building for each family. The design of the exterior incorporates the elements and culture of their respective ethnic groups. Against the backdrop of blue sky, white clouds, green water and green mountains, it is just like a small village in the Alps.

Nujiang, located in the northwest of Yunnan Province

Home to the autonomous prefecture with the largest number of ethnic minority groups in China
Lisu, Nu, Dulong, Pumi, and other 22 ethnic minorities
On one side is the surging river water like thousands of horses galloping
On the other side are the high mountains and deep valleys where the clouds are so thick🌳
Less commercialized, with fewer people and more beautiful scenery, it's much more beautiful than Shangri-La‼️
90% of the locals in Yunnan have never been there
It's a pity that I never entered it once despite passing by several times
🏔️Nujiang's Terrain
◽️The river is densely covered with rapid water flow, and the small and large rivers belong to three major river systems: the Nu River, the Lancang River, and the Irrawaddy River, which are an important part of the World Natural Heritage 'Three Parallel Rivers'
▫️Named for its large drop and rapid flow, it originates from the southern foothills of the Tanggula Mountains, with the highest peak being the main peak of Gaoligong Mountain, Gawagap Peak, at an altitude of 5128 meters; the lowest point is Shitouzhai in Lushui City, at an altitude of 738 meters, with a relative height difference of 4390 meters

🛖Travel Tips
1. Transportation: Fly✈️ to Baoshan Airport, self-drive or join a tour to Nujiang Prefecture
2. Best time to travel: It is recommended to go after October each year, as the summer is rainy and prone to landslides and mudslides, so it is important to save your life and go in winter
2. The people of Nujiang are simple and good at singing and dancing, and both men and women have a good capacity for alcohol, so don't easily compete in drinking with the people of Nujiang. The cuisine is sour and spicy, and friends who can't eat spicy food should bring diarrhea medicine and stomach medicine in advance
4. Zip-lining is one of the best ways to quickly understand Nujiang, but it is also very dangerous⚠️ It is not recommended for the elderly and the young
5. Nujiang has a mountainous road all the way, it is recommended to self-drive or join a tour, choose a petrol car, because there are very few charging piles, and it is inconvenient to take a taxi
