Peppers Christchurch Clearwater Resort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Resort with Lakefront Views in Christchurch
Situated near Christchurch Airport, Peppers Clearwater Resort is a 5 star accomodation with lakefront views. They have a mix of single or double story apartments, villa and king rooms.
From the moment I checked in, I was blown away by the tranquility and space of this resort. The apartments are spacious, with a full kitchen, bathtub and a huge king bed. The kitchen had all the pots and cutlery needed and I could whip up simple dishes during my stay. The bed was very comfortable, giving me restful sleep. It is also easy to get to town as it is only a 15 minutes drive away.
There are walking scenic walking tracks within the resort and a golf course. The lake is beautiful, so do take a walk around if here. I would recommend this resort if you are looking for a place near the airport or for a golfing trip.

Peppers Clearwater Resort in Christchurch
If you would like to have a relaxing and laid back resort stay, then I would highly recommend staying at the Peppers Clearwater resort in Christchurch. I had the privilege of staying in this lovely accomodation while I was in Christchurch and I had the Garden View Suite.
Peppers Clearwater resort is also a golf course, thus if you would like to have a game of golfing, it is just right next to your accomodtion. In the day, you can also see people enjoying a game of golf. My garden view suite is very big and spacious, it comes with a separate living room and bedroom. I can even do simple cooking in the suite as it comes with a kitchen. The bed is comfortable and even comes with a warmer if it gets too cold at night. Overall, the place is immaculately clean and it is very peaceful. It is the best place for a retreat. Walk around the resort and it gives you a scenic view of the whole place.
Right outside the suite is also a private courtyard. I love having my breakfast outside in the courtyard while having my own me time. Perfect!

Willowbank Wildlife Reserve Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
New Zealand's national treasure, the Kiwi bird.
At Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, finally saw the national treasure of New Zealand - the walking kiwi bird.
Not the young Kiwi in the photo, this is just a model in the introduction room. The living Kiwi can only appear in the dark, and photography is not allowed in the dark room. Besides the no photography rule, the dark room is designed to be very open, without glass. At one point, I felt like I could reach out and touch them (of course, I didn't).
Adult Kiwi is bigger than I imagined, almost the size of a large watermelon, with a longer and thinner beak. Watching it peck for food in the crevices of tree branches makes me nervous, as I worry it might break with too much force (I tend to worry too much, haha).
The zoo showcases five important wild New Zealand native species (of course, Kiwi is the most popular among them), as well as several other common native animals, farm animals, and some introduced species.
The zoo is not big, the ticket price is 32 New Zealand dollars, it's worth coming for the Kiwi, otherwise the ticket price is a bit expensive.
