Haikou Little Forbidden City, experience the aesthetics of light and shadow!
Haikou Little Forbidden City!
If you can't make it to the Forbidden City in Beijing, then take a trip to the Hairui Cultural Park in Haikou. The red walls and green tiles, pavilions, flowing water, and plants here make you feel as if you are personally in the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Jiangnan gardens in Beijing, where Chinese architecture and natural landscapes are integrated to highlight the ultimate Oriental aesthetics. The shadows of the trees dance and the light is mottled, especially the aesthetics of light and shadow under the setting sun are breathtaking!
The Hairui Cultural Park contains records of Hairui's life. Not only is there a Hairui School nearby the park, but also Hairui Street and Hairui Bridge. It not only carries the spirit of Hainan's historical culture but also plays an important role in influencing local education and cultural development. It is a popular tourist destination for both visitors from other places and local residents.

Hai Rui's Tomb
Hai Rui's Tomb is located at No. 39 Qiu Hai Avenue, Haikou City, Hainan Province, and was first built in the seventeenth year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. The tomb is rectangular in shape, facing south with the back to the north, and the main tomb is constructed of granite. The pathways in the tomb garden are paved with granite slabs. Hai Rui's Tomb mainly consists of a stone archway, the tomb itself, a statue of Hai Rui, the Hai Rui Exhibition Hall, and related buildings, highlighting Hai Rui's integrity, bright principles, and patriotic spirit.
The main entrance of Hai Rui's Tomb has a stone archway, with the words 'Eastern Guangdong's Righteous Qi' inscribed on the arch. Along the sides of the tomb path, there are stone sheep, stone horses, stone lions, stone turtles, and stone figures; to the south of the tomb mound stands a tombstone about three meters high. In front of the tombstone, there are five incense burners and candle holders, as well as a large offering table.
It is said that when Hai Rui's coffin was being transported to the current tomb site, the ropes carrying the coffin suddenly broke. People believed this was a sign that Hai Rui had chosen a feng shui treasure land, so he was buried on the spot.
