Explore the one and ONLY in SG!
Come explore the one and ONLY natural museum in Singapore! It was definitely one of the best visit for me, and having my best buddy to explore together makes it more enjoyable. I learnt so much and was so fascinated by all the spectacular artifacts, specimens and exhibits. Don’t forget to check out the dinosaur fossils! Definitely worth the ticket, if you are a natural history enthusiast. Though a great place for knowledge quest, in my personal opinion, it is more suitable for children ages 6 and above, as the description writings are rather small and complex for younger children to understand. Nevertheless it is a really impressive museum! Look forward to be back!

Located in the south west of Singapore lies a hidden meuseum with a large collection of millions of specimens from the Southeast Asia region.
It contains 16 thematic exhibitions feature plants, amphibians, mammals, and my favourite - dinosaurs!
I decided to pop by this place a couple hours before my dinner nearby. I was amaze at all the fossils we have in Singapore, and I love how close up I can examine each creature.
I recommend this place for anyone who is fascinated by nature and fossil. They have guided tours too if you want to learn more, however, I decided to explore the meuseum alone, reading about each exhibition one at a time.
It’s definitely a great place to bring your kids during school holidays! And for those who wants to take some photos with the dianosaur fossil, you might wanna head down during off peak period.

There are over 2,000 natural history specimens on display in this Museum allowing one to experience the amazing stories of nature in Southeast Asia.
It’s akin to a trip back in time as you are transported to the beginning of life on earth where you witness how life is slowly transformed into the diversity that we see today.
Be enthralled by the myriad of colours and forms of plants and animals in 15 different thematic zones from plants and amphibians to mammals and dinosaurs.
I’m here for the dinosaurs actually 😂 And the museum’s three diplodocid sauropod fossils were among the largest and heaviest animals to ever walk on land.
More than 80% complete, of which two of these skeletons come with skulls – a rarity as far as sauropod dinosaurs fossils are concerned!
Found between 2007 and 2010 in a quarry in a small town of Ten Sleep in the United States, they are believed to be part of a herd or even a family.

Natural History Museum Singapore (Lkcnhm)
#familytrips2024 Lkcnhm located in NUS. Day trip with family here could easily spend 2-3hours. The exhibitions are interesting and many photo worthy spots!
The area is safe for kids to run around and explore, although it is best not to disturb other guests.
The museum also has a lot of interactive features. Such as viewing of cells under microscopic. I especially love the concept of displaying the specimens in the cabinets.
A visit to the lkcnhm while you are in singapore is a recommended place!

This is an amazing place for museum lovers where they could see specimens for animals and plants. The whole museum may take up about 3 hours or more for visitors who are serious about obtaining knowledge from the visit. For casual visitors, it may just take about an hour to walk around and take photos. There are certainly some fascinating specimens and artifacts that surprise me which transform to different experience than reading from books or browsing from internet.

Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum
#singaporetrip Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum is Singapore's first & only natural history museum. The museum has over 500,000 objects & over a million specimens. The collections are exciting for both children & adults. And the museum shop is full with nice products for kids.
Good signage throughout the exhibition & helpful staff. The building itself exteriorly is an architectural experience & its surroundings are landscaped with native plants. It’s an iconic seven-story green building with stunning architecture.
The museum displays three dinosaurs & it’s fascinating to experience them in their full natural size. They were found in a small town in the US & are believed to be part a family.
The reason the History Museum has the three dinosaurs together in Singapore is due to a successful bid for the fossils two years ago for $8 million. A large part of the bill was for Mrs. Della Lee, wife of Lee Foundation Chairman Lee Seng Gee.

✅Recommended Experiences
Utown: The school's landmark orange signboard is right in the middle of Utown, which is the most popular spot for students. The large lawn in Utown is quite a luxury in land-scarce Singapore, and the food court in Utown has a lot of delicious food for you to try.
Nus museum: There are many exhibits from China, and both Xu Beihong and Qi Baishi have exhibited here. The museum offers free admission.
Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum: This is Singapore's first natural history museum, with a collection of 566,500 items, and 2,000 animal and plant specimens are on regular display. The Liang Long fossil is the treasure of the museum.
Entrance fee: Adults: 21 SGD; Children, students, seniors, and persons with disabilities: 13 SGD (tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket counter in the museum)
Yale-NUS: This is the library of the college jointly operated with Yale, with a strong American vibe. Every table has a warm-toned lampshade, creating a great atmosphere.
Faculty of Engineering: This is the only place in the entire campus where you can take pictures of the West Coast and the port. The view is especially breathtaking at sunset. To reach this spot, you need to go around to the front to take the elevator, as there is no elevator at the back, or you can directly climb the stairs, which is just 7 floors in total.

Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum
#singaporetrip Singapore’s very own natural history museum. If there’s one word to describe this place, it’ll be “elegant”. Its exhibits are beautifully curated, evoking the atmosphere of an art gallery. While it caters primarily to adults with its refined design, it offers fewer interactive elements for children.I really recommend for you to visit.......

Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, Singapore – What a pleasure for nature fans such as myself on my trip in 2023! 🦕🌿 Paying 21 SGD for the entrance fee turned out to be a good investment given that I would enjoy an amazing biodiversity experience.
Walking into this museum located at the National University of Singapore, one is already floored by its stunning architectural design. The iconic rock-like structure, indicates the marvels inside. 🏛️🪨
The star of the show is open gallery spread over three stories housing 2,000 specimens. The gigantic fossils of life-sized dinosaurs such as the majestic Diplodocus made me embark on a prehistoric journey. 🦖🦕
The emphasis on Singapore’s indigenous wildlife was highlighted by the Raffles’ Banded Langur to be on display and this added interactive, hands-on exhibits. 🐒🔍
It feels as if glass cabinets filled with specimens are windows to the busy world of biodiversity – butterflies, beetles and an array of flora fauna. 🌺🦋
The garden of the museum is a quiet place to take one’s breath off and Kent Ridge Park nearby offers an excellent opportunity for taking on nature. 🚶♂️🌳
The NUS Baba House with its beautifully preserved interiors is just right across the street and gives a peek into Peranakan culture. A cultural two-for-one! 🏠🌏
The museum was conveniently located so I could spend time in the surrounding Clementi neighborhood, which is known for having local markets and hawker centers. A foodie's paradise! 🍜🥟
Pro tip: Schedule guided tours or special events at the museum – they offer you more information about what is presented on display. And don’t forget to bring your camera for some dino-mite snaps! 📸🦕

[Explore SG] Least Known Museum in Singapore
#singapore Being a multicultural society, Singapore has several museums that serve to educate the public of our history and culture that make us what we are today. While the National Museum and the National Gallery rank among the most popular museums in Singapore, there’s one lesser-known museum that not many people know about - Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum.
Even I, as an alumnus of NUS, was not aware of this museum located within the compound of NUS, right next to the University Cultural Centre. I was even more intrigued by the exhibits within, featuring species of plants, mammals and of course, dinosaurs, that used to roam the earth.
If you’re interested to learn more about the biodiversity research in Southeast Asia, this is a museum you need to visit.
