I regret not coming to Quanzhou earlier
Quanzhou, half a city of fireworks and half a city of immortals, is a place you must visit at least once in your life~ There is a temple every 500 meters here, which is the office of the gods on earth, the most beautiful coastline selected by National Geographic, and a food paradise for individuals!
🌈Classic one-day tour route
West Street (the most intact ancient street in Quanzhou city)-Kaiyuan Temple (the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, once called Lotus Temple, which arouses the DNA of my lotus head)-Xiaoxi Cheng (net red wall)-Bell Tower-Zhongshan Street-Fu Wen Temple-Guan Yue Temple-Tianhou Palace
🌈Photo route
Because this trip stayed in Hui'an County Julong Town Longgu Mountain House, which is a 40-minute drive away, so I only went to the most out-of-the-picture West Street➕Kaiyuan Temple, enjoy the city scenery and rest in the rooftop coffee shop~ In the afternoon, I went to Xifu Begonia in Xunpu Village to take ancient costumes~ (This will be introduced in detail in the next article)
🌈Food recommendation
We had breakfast at the hotel➕went to the rooftop coffee on West Street, and ate Song Xiaojin·Quanzhou Restaurant in Xunpu Village after taking pictures in the evening (the best meal of this trip, praise me for finding delicious food)
Around 7:30 I went back to Longgu Mountain House to rest, and arrived at more than 8:00, it was still early to take a walk or let the housekeeper arrange a car to go to the hot spring♨️ are good choices~
I really like this slow-paced town, which reminds me of my hometown~ I want to bring my loved ones again next time🥰

Life advice, go to these places before leaving Quanzhou
Quanzhou is a city that you should visit at least once in your life.
This is my second time in Quanzhou, I really love it here, not only does it have a rich Minnan ancient residential style, unique architectural design, countless temples and Taoist temples, but also the lively atmosphere of walking around the streets.
✍🏻Please keep this three-day and two-night niche travel guide
'Day 1'
📍Millennium West Street-Bell Tower-Youli Coffee Shop-Kaiyuan Temple-1915 Art Space
📍Wulin Traditional Village-Luoja Temple-Gold Coast
🚄Travel
Quanzhou has three train stations, Quanzhou Station is in the city, closest to West Street, most of the attractions are near West Street, you can walk around, or you can reach by bus, prefer Quanzhou Station, Quanzhou South Station is in Jinjiang, close to Wulin and Shishi. (The ancient city beckons with a small white car 2r/person, and the taxi is not expensive)
Specific itinerary:
Day1: Millennium West Street is a must-go, it gathers all the food and snacks in Quanzhou, full of lively atmosphere, my first picture was taken on the rooftop of Youli Coffee Shop, or you can get the same position on the rooftop of Berry Super Crazy, the bell tower is at the entrance of West Street.
1915 Art Space is a century-old building in the alley of West Street, enter from the Pei Alley of West Street, the environment inside is very quiet, now it is transformed into a western restaurant, there is also afternoon tea, very suitable for leisure.
Another entrance to West Street is Kaiyuan Temple, which was built in the Tang Dynasty and is the oldest millennium ancient temple in Fujian. The east and west twin towers are even more exquisite when you look closer.
Day2: Wulin Traditional Village is the place where I stayed the longest this time. The key is that there are few people, and you can really feel the charm of Quanzhou's century-old Nanyang architectural group. In addition to the Minnan official mansion, it also integrates Gothic architecture and ancient Roman style, which is really amazing!
The sea Luoja Temple is near Wulin, half an hour's drive away. It is known as the Buddhist country on the sea, and the aerial photography is also very good.
The Golden Coast of Shishi is also nearby. If you like the sea, you might as well go to see the sea, but the wind is very strong in winter, so keep warm.
🍜Quanzhou food
Shuimen Guozi noodle paste, taro cake, ginger duck, roast pork zongzi, satay noodles (I personally think Yifeng satay noodles are okay, less than 30 with shrimp and fish balls)
In general, this trip costs a few thousand, it is really a domestic niche travel destination.

Escape the city! Come to Quanzhou to be a flower fairy
Quanzhou, a city praised by Bai Yansong as 'a city to visit at least once in a lifetime', is now becoming popular again because of Zhao Liying's flower hairpin style. What charm does this ancient city with a long history have? Below, I will compile a travel guide for Quanzhou for everyone, to show you the charm of this city.
🚀Travel Guide:
The main airport to reach Quanzhou is Jinjiang International Airport. For high-speed trains, you can choose Quanzhou Station or Quanzhou West Station. The old city is about 30 minutes drive from Jinjiang Airport and Quanzhou Station, and the transportation is very convenient. At Quanzhou Passenger Transport Center Station, you can take buses to various counties. In the city, you can usually scan the code to take the bus for 1-2 yuan, or choose shared electric bicycles or walking.
🌟Travel Route:
Day1: Kaiyuan Temple→West Street→Bell Tower→Xuanmiao Temple→Chengtian Temple→Confucius Temple→Qingjing Temple→Guanyue Temple→Zhongshan Road Goldfish Lane
Day2: Qingyuan Mountain Laojun Rock→Yipu Village Arrowhead Zhenwu Temple→Tianhou Palace→Qinglong Lane Jubao Street
Day3: Overseas Traffic History Museum→Quanzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum→Luoyang Bridge→Chongwu Ancient City→Dazha Village (Windmill Island)
🌟Must-visit attractions:
🌟Qingyuan Mountain: There are thousand-year-old Taoist stone carvings on the mountain, and there are still many villages inside, with beautiful scenery and fresh air.
🌟West Street: As the most well-preserved and earliest developed ancient street in Quanzhou, it is not only full of delicious food, but the red brick ancient houses are also very suitable for taking pictures.
🌟Kaiyuan Temple: A thousand-year-old temple built in the Tang Dynasty, it is the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, with a pair of stone towers in the temple. The temple has limited flow, remember to make an appointment in advance.
🌟Zhongshan Road: A Zhongshan Road, half of Quanzhou's history. The renovated Zhongshan Road shows the characteristics of the arcade buildings to the fullest, and the complex reliefs are well preserved.
🌟Xunpu Village: It is a famous fishing village and historical and cultural ancient city in Quanzhou. Walking on the streets of the village, you can see aunts and grandmas with flowers in their hair everywhere. There are many shops along the street where you can experience Xunpu women's clothing. You can choose a relatively larger store, the costumes and props will be more expensive, basically 40 per person.
Come to Quanzhou and feel the charm of this city!🎉🌟

Guide•Quanzhou|Want to see the sea, so I came to this World Heritage small town
✨Because I like this coastal small town in the World Cultural Heritage List too much, I came to Quanzhou again. When I left, I knew clearly that I would definitely come again.
✨Bai Yansong was right: "As long as you love life, you will definitely fall in love with Quanzhou."
Places worth visiting in Quanzhou
1⃣️Kaiyuan Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, no tickets or appointments are required. If you want to go, remember to go early, the price is very beautiful.
2⃣️West Street is next to Kaiyuan Temple, the Minnan red brick house is too beautiful, and the integration with Kaiyuan Temple really confirms the phrase "half city fireworks half city fairy".
Photo check-in location: You can go to the rooftop of Meichao Crazy and the rooftop of West Street Tourist Service Center.
Snack recommendation: Wu-style handmade glutinous rice cake, Auntie Chicken Rack, and Hou's Meat Zongzi are all very good.
3⃣️Quanzhou Overseas Traffic History Museum, if you are interested in the history of Quanzhou, you must go, you can also watch the documentary "Return to Cistong City" in advance, which will be very helpful for understanding the history of Quanzhou.
4⃣️Linluan Ferry (Shihu Wharf) is the treasure I found following the history of Quanzhou . Although it is now just a quiet small village—Shihu Village, it hides the prosperity of Quanzhou. You can take a taxi or take the Shishi 7 bus (about one way 1h) from the Shishi city area. Shihu Mazu Palace and Liusheng Tower Park are also nearby. You can visit them together and experience slowly.
5⃣️Hui Women's Style Garden, the ticket is 30/person, if you eat in some restaurants in the scenic area, you can offset the ticket if you spend 80; you must walk up the small hill (not high and easy to climb), the view from the top of the hill is extremely wide, you can overlook the entire Dazhu Village . If you like to see the sea, don't miss it, the photos are also very good! The coastal road from the northeast gate of Chongwu Ancient City to Hui Women's Style Garden is strongly recommended to choose shared electric bikes (small 🍊continues "Travel"), super treasure blowing sea breeze is super comfortable🛵

Quanzhou's lively West Street
When in Quanzhou, taking a stroll along the West Street, one of the most popular spots of the city, is a must do for every visitor!
West Street is located in the downtown area of Quanzhou (Fujian Province), at the side of the UNESCO site of the Kanyuan Temple.
The street is renowned for its local snacks and charming historic buildings, characterized by the local architectural style, recognizable by the lively orange color of the bricks and tiles.
I visited West Street during the week of Chinese New Year 2023, and although really crowded, I still enjoyed the local flavor and tasty street food! 😋🍢

I always remember the words that my mother always said: "How do you like a gift, pick it up?" The so-called Jiali is also a puppet. In the current repertoire of Quanzhou, there are still many contents of weddings, funerals and folk beliefs and customs in Quanzhou.
JUNS.
The most famous West Street in Quanzhou on the Zhongshan Road is like the Luogu Lane in Beijing, the Yangshuo in Guilin, the Kuanzhai Alley in Chengdu, and the Beibuwan Old Street in the North Sea. It is an old street carrying the millennium Minnan culture.
Going out from Xiaoxitun, you can see the Quanzhou landmark, the clock tower located at the intersection of West Street and Zhongshan Road, full of rich Nanyang style, which is particularly conspicuous at the end of the antique West Street. It is a unique scenery of the ancient city with the East and West Towers, and the Diaolou. It attracts tourists from home and abroad. This is also the standard clock tower built when the East-West Cross Road was built in 1934. The clock tower is 13.8 meters high and is designed by the British designer. European style.

MACI ROBBINS
I have finally arrived at the other side of the Anywhere Door—Xiaoxi Street in Huzhou
During the May Day holiday, I really didn't want to travel far and join the crowds, so when I went to the city center to see the dentist, I accidentally discovered the old street of Huzhou—Xiaoxi Street.
Xiaoxi Street has a history of over 1600 years, and despite the vicissitudes of time, the well-preserved Xiaoxi Street allows us to see buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The ancient street, with a total area of over 30,000 square meters, is now lined with various shops, where history and modernity are integrated, creating a full atmosphere. Although it has become somewhat commercialized, the focus is on historical buildings, which have been renovated within the original structures, adding a new charm.
Many alleys are particularly narrow, and shuttling through them is like passing through the gates of history, walking in a hutong from the Qing Dynasty...

Quanzhou | Kowloon Dragon Quest Tour
Finally saw the dragon🐉! Family members~ Recently, Kowloon has been all over the social media, and today I finally saw it. Now I am sharing my feelings of the day with everyone. First of all, the coiled Azure Dragon🐉, called Pulao, is located next to the clock tower on West Street in Quanzhou, known as 'Dragon Crowd Seeking Big Money'. This spot tends to be more crowded, and the dragon here doesn't look very good in photos at night without the lights on, so I recommend taking photos during the day, it's so beautiful.
Next is Bixi, the cute and dazed 'little dragon turtle' haha, it's really adorable, I like it so much. It's located at Wei Yuan Tower, which is right next to the road of the Second Hospital of Medical University, Licheng District. It's only a little over two hundred meters from the clock tower, so you can choose your route according to your own situation. There are fewer people around Wei Yuan Tower during the weekdays, and today there was almost no one. I heard that the other dragons will appear in the next few days, and I am so looking forward to it, the dragon quest route has officially started!
At Wei Yuan Tower, there are two ancient trees. When I went back at night, I found that the trees were hung with lanterns and small lights, which looked super beautiful. The most important thing is that the middle tree🌲 had a dragon head🐲 hung on it, which was really cool and I liked it so much. There were also goldfish lanterns around the base of the tree. I recommend everyone to go see the dragons and then check out the trees at night, it's really nice and has a strong New Year atmosphere. Forgive me for not being able to capture the effect with my phone, but what I saw with my eyes was really beautiful. Quanzhou really has a full sense of ceremony, and lanterns🏮 are hung on various roads, so you can see them everywhere when you go out.

Half of the city is filled with fireworks, and the other half is like a fairyland - West Street
Someone said: West Street is a piece of history that one can live in. As a millennium-old street; with its ancient alleys full of charm, rich cultural heritage, historical sites, and documented in ancient books, it is also the proudest place in the famous city of Quanzhou.
✔️ West Street, the earliest pedestrian street in Quanzhou. In West Street, all legends, all relics, are vividly alive.
✔️ For over a thousand years, this ancient street has been like a dazzling string of pearls, threading together numerous splendid cultural relics and historical sites from the Tang and Song dynasties, as well as ancient streets and houses, along with the notable anecdotes and folk tales associated with them.
✔️ Today's West Street, with the thousand-year-old Kaiyuan Temple at the westernmost end and the Bell Tower at the easternmost, is filled with a strong sense of life throughout. The alleys extending on both sides form the full texture of the old city, with streets within alleys and alleys within alleys.
✔️ Walking to the eastern end of West Street, you will see the Bell Tower, a building that has witnessed nearly a hundred years of Quanzhou's history.
✔️ You must go up to the rooftop of West Street, where the West Street Tourist Service Center offers a free rooftop with an excellent view, while other popular rooftops require consumption.
✔️ In Quanzhou, West Street is not only the most intact ancient street area in the city center but also a symbol of the city's prosperity for nearly a thousand years. And on West Street, you can find the rich cultural atmosphere of Quanzhou city.

|| Quanzhou's Must-Visit Millennium Ancient Temple: Kaiyuan Temple. Kaiyuan Temple is located on West Street in Quanzhou, established in the year 686 AD, and has a history of over a thousand years. The entire Kaiyuan Temple covers an area of 78,000 square meters, making it the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province and a key national cultural relic protection unit.
The garden layout of Kaiyuan Temple faces south from the north and is symmetrical from east to west. Inside the temple, banyan trees reach up to the sky🌳🌴, and the breeze is refreshing. Many girls visiting West Street wear flower hairpins to take photos inside, adding a touch of spirituality to Kaiyuan Temple.
Many ancient buildings in Kaiyuan Temple are carved with sculptures, each set of sculptures tells a different story, and you can enjoy them slowly for half a day.
【Scripture Pavilion】It was rebuilt into a concrete imitation wood structure during the Republic of China period. The craftsmanship is so realistic that it can be mistaken for the real thing, yet it is the most minimalist-style building in Kaiyuan Temple.
【Mahavira Hall】The architectural carvings are exquisitely beautiful, with more than a dozen pairs of flying apsaras on the ceiling beams, and dozens of Buddha statues inside are intricately crafted. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside the hall, so it's best to respect the rules. The immortals and mythical animals on the roof turn into dragons and cranes, presenting auspiciousness in vibrant colors.
【East and West Pagodas】The frame structure repaired over seven hundred years ago, five-story stone pagodas, with dougong beams and mortise and tenon joints all made of granite, and the pagoda walls are carved with Buddhist stories.

Millennium West Street still remains the old street for dining, leisure, and shopping
Quanzhou West Street was established during the Song Dynasty and has experienced a thousand years. The street's appearance is still well preserved, with dozens of relics and groups of antique wooden buildings. However, compared to the current commercial street model, visitors seem to be more curious about the delicacies of West Street than the ancient buildings.
【Street Scene】Most of the shops are snack stores, with the majority offering Minnan snacks, including ginger duck, oyster omelette, and 'big intestine wrapping small intestine'... But there are also snacks from all over the country, including Peking duck, Changsha stinky tofu..., and various types of trendy teas and fresh juices are even more popular. It was after ordering juice at a place called 'Fresh See' (West Street branch) that we began to study our 'food strategy'.
There are also souvenir shops on the street where you can buy various packaged snacks including Fujian's unique 'Pian Zai Huang' and various intangible cultural heritage crafts. I bought a Quanzhou-style ceramic tile coaster, so exquisite.
【Buildings】Many of the old buildings on the street have opened their second floors as restaurants or bars, also providing a high vantage point for people to enjoy the view of West Street. We went up to the rooftop of the West Street Tourist Center to take photos, and incidentally admired the cultural and creative cakes from the second floor's Shi Yu. Gazing at the Kaiyuan Temple closing as the sun sets.
📍Specific location: Licheng District, Quanzhou City, accessible by the white electric screen car to the street entrance, just raise your hand and pay 2 yuan per person.

World Heritage Town·Quanzhou Easy Two-Day Tour with Guide
Do not go during the peak season! Restaurants and temples are crowded, which diminishes the experience. Try to take a day or two off, like I did with a weekend + Monday; two to three days is enough.
-
🏠Accommodation: Most online recommendations suggest staying away from the attractions, but I prefer the opposite. Staying in the old town is so convenient! I stayed at the intersection of Zhongshan Road and West Street, where several temples and popular snack shops are within walking distance. It only takes a few minutes by 'little white car', freeing up more time for my overnight trip. The only downside to this hotel is the price; otherwise, the experience is very good. You can also look for homestays with better environments.
-
🚗Transportation: Walk or take the 'little white car' in the old town. These cars are readily available throughout the old town, with a wait of just a minute or two, or even less. Just wave your hand, tell the driver where you want to go, and if it's reachable within the old town, they'll invite you aboard. It costs 2 yuan per person, and you can pay with Quanzhou's Alipay transportation card when getting off, which is super convenient. For longer distances, take a taxi.
-
🚶Strolling the Streets and Alleys: Staying near the bell tower, start from there and embark on this citywalk along West Street and Zhongshan Road. Wander into any lively alleys you see, like Goldfish Alley, Flower Alley, Chengtian Alley, etc. There's no need to follow various routes found online; this area is actually quite small. As you shuttle between temples and attractions, you'll inadvertently explore these places, so just go with the flow.
-
🪷Temples: I visited three temples in the old town, all close to each other, which can be toured in a morning or an afternoon. They are Kaiyuan Temple, Guanyue Temple, and Chengtian Temple. They are quite different from many temples I've visited in Hangzhou, and seeing them in person is quite impressive.
P45 is Kaiyuan Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, so it's super crowded! Going early in the morning can help avoid the crowds for a more comfortable visit. I went on a rainy Monday, arriving at 8 am, so there weren't many people. You can scan the QR codes at various points for explanations, which is really interesting! You can allocate about 1.5-2h for it.
P3 is a photo taken through the incense burner at Chengtian Temple, which is second only to Kaiyuan Temple in size. It felt similar, and I left after half an hour. If you're short on time, you might choose one of the two!
P10 is Guanyue Temple, where the incense is really strong. Even the rain can't stop everyone's sincere devotion. It's said that the fortune-telling is very accurate, and during off-peak seasons, praying and fortune-telling take about half an hour. Make sure to research the fortune-telling process in advance! If you get the steps wrong, it might not be accurate.
-
🍜Food: I tried Zhang Lin A Shan Ginger Duck, Shuimen Guozi Mianxianhu, and Dongxing Beef Shop, and both my friend and I agreed they were delicious!

Strolling through Quanzhou, one can gaze at the East and West Pagodas and walk along a vibrant and fragrant avenue of everyday life
🚶Stepping out of Kaiyuan Temple, you immediately return to the bustling human world. The lively West Street is located here, marking the start of a leisurely journey of exploration and gastronomy. As the sun sets, the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, with architecture and food that embody the spirit of life.

Name: West Street
Address: Intersection of Chengxi Road and West Street, Licheng District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province
Open: All day
Admission: Free
—————————
🚶Entering West Street, one first experiences the prosperity of Quanzhou that has been passed down since the Song Dynasty. The well-preserved ancient street district, more than 20 protected sites, and dazzling array of gourmet shops, along with various photogenic spots along the way, create the unique, enthusiastic atmosphere of West Street.
🌟Bustling with activity, a sea of people
Walking on West Street, the crowd is dense and never-ending. The popularity here is truly unmatched, with people's enthusiastic smiles, the satisfaction of holding street snacks, and the casual poses with cameras all contributing to the unique scenery. Tourists come from afar, and locals also regard it as a great place for leisurely strolls, creating a lively atmosphere with their overwhelming presence.
🌟A city half filled with life, Quanzhou cuisine
Every few meters, one is greeted with an array of food stalls and trendy shops that are too many to take in at once. Local time-honored specialty foods, delicately decorated trendy snacks, and second-floor viewing terrace shops with an excellent view of West Street all emit different fragrances. Remember to come with an empty stomach, because you'll really need to lean on the wall to walk out after indulging in the feast of flavors that half the city has to offer.
🌟A must-visit destination, landmarks abound
Before going, be sure to do some research on the best photo spots. Don't miss out on the great photo opportunities, such as the giant 'Quanzhou' sign, the big 'Love' on the wall, Bai Yansong's famous quotes at Xiaoxi Cheng, the panoramic view of West Street from the second-floor viewing terrace of the shops, the bell tower at the end of the road, and many more landmarks waiting for you to explore and create precious memories. Remember to bring your camera and capture it all along the way.
🚶Although there are many must-visit spots in Quanzhou, with numerous ancient temples and houses, if you haven't been to West Street, it feels as if you haven't really been to Quanzhou. So, don't miss out and go experience it for yourself.

Welcome to the Office of the Gods in Quanzhou
Bring your family to Quanzhou for the New Year, and here's a guide for first-timers on where to eat, play, and take photos.
🏨 Accommodation: Stayed in Sanchao Alley near West Street, a 10-minute walk to West Street
🌸 Xuangpu Village Hairpin Flowers: Hairpin flowers cost 40+ for a set of clothes, with a 200 deposit. Sisters who can do their own makeup and don't chase after internet-famous looks can do it themselves; it's fine to take your own photos when traveling with girlfriends. You can also hire a photographer; they know the spots that make for good photos. If it's not the peak season, you can book a photographer with a portfolio in advance. If you can edit photos, you don't need to ask for retouching (because you'll have to wait, just use Meitu Xiu Xiu to edit yourself)
🤡 Puppet Show: A cultural heritage worth experiencing with children. Couldn't get tickets for the New Year, bought overpriced tickets for the 5th row at the seafood market, recommend buying within the first 8 rows for a clear view. The performance was amazing, it changed my perception of puppet shows, and you can take photos with the puppets at the end.
📷 Popular photo spots on West Street: 1️⃣ Carp Sky Terrace Café (consumption required, 20 per person for rooftop photos without consumption, one adult drink can bring one child), go early for photos without queuing, this place has the best view of the Kaiyuan Temple Twin Towers. 2️⃣ Berry Super Crazy Advantages: This rooftop is free, and the drinks are delicious. Disadvantages: Really crowded, first time seeing a rooftop photo spot that requires queuing. 3️⃣ Quanzhou Characters: Navigate to the 85°C West Street store, don't walk past it, just turn left to see the two characters for Quanzhou. The bell tower is just ahead.
🍽️ Food: 1️⃣ Berry Super Crazy: Trustworthy drinks (Oriental Gardenia White is delicious) 2️⃣ Kun Ji Taro Cake·Stone Flower Cake: My goodness, never thought taro cake could be so delicious, crispy on the outside and silky inside. (Order takeout) 3️⃣ Spring Brother Teppanyaki: Heard I must try the ginkgo nuts!!! Crispy, fragrant, chewy, sweet and salty, ah! The barbecue is also delicious! 4️⃣ Xie Ji Four Fruit Ice: The four-fruit soup is delicious no matter which store, but the key is that their fried chicken legs and chicken racks are even tastier than those at barbecue shops. 5️⃣ Dongxing Beef: The food is delicious, but the attitude is very bad. Go for it if you don't mind. 6️⃣ Zhang Lin A Shan Ginger Duck, the perfect combination of ginger flavor and duck, the duck meat is very tender, and the oyster omelette is delicious
The above is a brief record of my time in Quanzhou, a city with a profound cultural heritage. I'm ready to listen to a podcast about Quanzhou and visit it again, next time to seriously explore Kaiyuan Temple. See you next time, Quanzhou

Witness the miniature of Quanzhou's history on Zhongshan Road, where 'fireworks coexist with poetry'
'Bai Nian Zhongshan Road, Qian Nian Cìtóng City', being close to Zhongshan Road is the happiest thing in Quanzhou~
Zhongshan Road Historical and Cultural District is really a fun place no matter the time of day or night~
There are many Minnan-style buildings here, reflecting the characteristic cultural fusion of Quanzhou, some are simple and majestic, some are exquisitely gorgeous, and some have become 'internet-famous walls' (like the 'Love' wall of the Christian church, which was originally the site of Shi Lang's backyard garden). Among them, the most distinctive is the only one in our country, the most completely preserved arcade building commercial street.
Quanzhou is rainy, and when we were there, we often encountered light rain. At that time, the advantage of 'In the rainy south, arcades protect from the wind' really comes into play, and it truly doesn't hinder shopping, haha.

🚄: Departure from various places —— Quanzhou Station
🏠: We chose a place that combines a small coffee bar with accommodation
West Street and Kaiyuan Temple nearby are both fine. It seems that if you don't go to the seaside area, the attractions in Quanzhou are quite close, so there's no need to specifically choose the center
🛵: We chose to rent a small electric scooter, which was quite comfortable and convenient
Often saw little white bikes on the road, they should also be convenient, I saw many people recommending them
🗺️:
DAY1:
Head to the hotel to rest a bit, then rent a car to go out for food —— 【West Street】First, have some 【Taro Cake】【Auntie's Chicken Ribs】and the like —— 【Berry Super Crazy Rooftop】check in for the full view —— Come out and eat 【Chun Ge Teppanyaki】's ginkgo across the street —— 【Bell Tower】 —— 【Auntie Hou's Rice Dumplings】 —— Went for a drink, have to say it's a whole street of bars, just pick any and it's great —— 【Dongxing Beef Shop】 —— Return trip
DAY2:
Breakfast at 【Shuiguo Men Rice Noodle Paste】 —— On the way to West Street, stumbled upon 【Kun Ji Taro Cake】so delicious, even shipped some home —— After doing makeup, went to 【Hairpin Flowers】directly found a shop on West Street, very nice! —— 【Kaiyuan Temple】take photos with hairpin flowers —— 【Quanzhou Puppet Theatre】watch a puppet show, remember to book in advance, super hard to get, personally I suggest if you're not too into it just get a 30 yuan ticket to have a look —— On the way back, bought some sour stuff
DAY3:
Breakfast at the 【Mashed Potato Noodles】we saw in the alley before, also had fried vegetable cakes —— 【Guan Yue Temple】to draw lots —— 【Chengtian Zen Temple】suggest to visit with Kaiyuan Temple, taking photos with hairpin flowers there will also look good, mainly because it rained on the second day —— Pack up and head out to see Jie Jie's concert

Quanzhou Tour
Quanzhou is really a likable place, although the West Street is a bit crowded, and there are not enough restrooms, but after all, it is the old town area, which is understandable. Over here at Donghai, the scenery is truly breathtaking, with open air and very pleasant weather. Strolling near the Luoyang Bridge, just wandering around feels quite nice too.

Quanzhou Ancient City·West Street
West Street is one of the earlier developed streets and areas in Quanzhou. As early as the Song Dynasty, it had already symbolized the prosperity of Quanzhou. It is also the most intact ancient street district in Quanzhou city, preserving a large number of buildings with historical original appearance.
West Street is the most crowded place for visitors in Quanzhou, with the core section from Kaiyuan Temple to the Bell Tower. The buildings on both sides are scattered and unpolished, revealing a casual ancient charm. Various popular snack shops and craft stores are densely packed.
In Quanzhou, there is a temple every five hundred meters, serving as the earthly offices for the gods. Quanzhou has also been rated by 'National Geographic' as the most beautiful coastline in China, a place you must visit at least once in your lifetime. I've already been here for the second time West Street

Departing from Beijing for a weekend getaway | No leave needed, 2 days in Quanzhou just follow my lead
It wasn't any airline's happy flight offer, it was just during one of those aimless ticket browsing sessions that I stumbled upon a special fare to Quanzhou. A flight on Friday at 20:30 and returning on Sunday at 21:35, no leave required, all for 960 yuan. If you can take leave on Friday, there's a flight around 18:30 that could save you about a hundred more, which is even cheaper than a round-trip train ticket to Shanghai. Why wait any longer? I immediately snagged the deal.
As it turns out, for a special forces soldier like me, two days over the weekend is enough to have a great time in Quanzhou. For those with good stamina, follow this guide to check off all the fun spots for food and entertainment.
Here's the two-day itinerary:
Day1⃣️: Luoji Temple - Wulin Traditional Village - Aquan Whole Beef Restaurant - Overseas Transportation History Museum - West Street - Goldfish Alley - Stand Jiang Mother Duck - Guanyue Temple night view
Day2⃣️: Kaiyuan Temple - Hairpin Flower Shop - Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum - De Wen Shrimp Noodle - West Street (Bai Rui, Berry Super Crazy, West Street Tourist Center, these terraces are great for photos) - Xiaoxikan - Tianhou Palace - Guanyue Temple - Qingjing Temple - Zhongshan Street - Flower Alley - Lejia Braised Beef Noodle
🌟Highly recommended spots (from a photographer's perspective):
Luoji Temple: A sea temple similar to the one Li Xian visited, great for photos, but a bit far
Wulin Traditional Village: A Minnan-style architectural complex near the airport, not a man-made attraction but very photogenic, surprisingly so
Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum: A must-visit, for heritage preservation, with live demonstrations by artisans
West Street: For a panoramic shot, Berry Super Crazy and West Street Tourist Center are free and recommended
Guanyue Temple: The night view is stunning and very photogenic, though it's a bit crowded during the day
Kaiyuan Temple: A must-visit, and it's advised to go early to avoid the crowds
Zhongshan Street, Flower Alley, Goldfish Alley: These streets are perfect for a city walk
🍜Delicious food:
So delicious, the places I visited these past few days were all great, and other snacks like noodle paste and Aunt Qin's taro cake on West Street are also good
Stand Jiang Mother Duck: This famous restaurant is quite large so the queue isn't too long, they only serve four dishes, with mother duck being their signature
Aquan Beef Restaurant: The beef in Quanzhou is so delicious, oh my goodness, I also had a beef noodle soup, everything is tasty, you must try it!
De Wen Shrimp Noodle: You can choose your favorite ingredients to add, to each their own
🌸Hairpin Flower:
Because I felt that the hairpin flower making in Xunpu Village is now too commercialized and crowded, I just skipped it and casually picked a shop on West Street to try it out, as long as I'm happy that's all that matters
Can't write anymore, I'll update with a super practical guide in the next article, stay tuned
