Best view of Mt. Fuji without the tourist
There's so many resources out there sharing the best spot to view Mount Fuji and I must say this is the best one yet!
Yamanaka is home to one of the five lakes surrounding Mt. Fuji. I decided to give this place a try as I prefer less touristy spots.
This lake is 20-40mins bus ride from Mt Fuji station (I recommend checking the bus timetable as the frequency is quite limited).
There are 2 main things you can do there:
1. Rent a bicycle
2. Rent a swan boat
Both will provide you a stunning view of Mt. Fuji but the bicycle will give you speed to travel around Yamanaka - best part is there's already bicycle pathways around the place.
We rented a bicycle for ¥700/hour and cycled 10 minutes up to Yamanakako Hana no miyako Kouen(Flower Park). We followed the bicycle path along the right side of Katsura river.
The enterance fee was ¥600/pax and it was so worth it! Hana no miyako Kouen is a 300,000 square meters of flower field with a stunning view of Mt. Fuji as your backdrop.
We went in May which the last month to enjoy the ice cap on the mountain!
The unique thing about this park is the different type of flowers that is planted during each season.
There is also a Japanese-style garden, lava tree type basement experience zone, waterfall of Myojin, and a water playground for kids!
I recommend bringing a picnic mat and some snacks from the grocery store (Ogino) nearby to have a lovely and zen afternoon lunch/tea.
Overall a great place to visit and chill with your friends and loved ones.

Mount Fuji
Took a direct bus to Kawaguchiko to explore nearby areas and catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji.
When we reach the station, we took a vintage internal red bus to Yamanakako Hananomiyako Flower Park. Paid for a ticket to the park and we get to see the beautiful Mount Fuji among blue nemophila flowers.
There are also some white flowers on the other side of the park and we have a stroll exploring the park.
In 2024, I will wish to visit Hokkaido.

Best of Summer in Yamanashi
This is Hana No Miyako Flower Park in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan. I’ve been here multiple times, and it’s famous for its beautiful flowers that change with the seasons. This was taken during the summer break and got to see bright flowers like cosmos, sunflowers, lavenders and a many more lovely blooms to enjoy.
You can also see Mt. Fuji up close when the sky is clear. We visited this place as part of a bus tour.

Flower Park near Mt. Fuji
We come to here by car, a big parking is opposite this Park main entry, you can enjoy seasonal flowers for free (there is also a paid zone). Tulips and pansies in spring, and sunflowers, zinnias, and yellow cosmos in early August are beautiful. Many people take pictures of the flower garden with Mt. Fuji in the background. In winter, you can still enjoy the illuminations for free. It is recommended because there are various ways to enjoy it in each season.
