Yokohama 150 Anniversary Memorial
#thingstodo It is located on Kaiko no Oka in Zou-no-hana Park, the birthplace of Yokohama Port. It is located on the way from Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse to Yamashita Park.
This monument is a granite reproduction of Tanemaru, the mascot character for Kaikoku Expo Y150, which was designed in 2009 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama Port. Along with the commemorative items, there are also 508 time capsules solicited from Yokohama citizens. This capsule is scheduled to be opened in 2059, the 200th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama Port. It might be fun to stop by on your way to Yamashita Park and take a photo of the cutely designed Tanemaru.
