Wuyi Mountain Villa Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Great Wuyi Mountain, here I come!
At the end of December 23 years ago, I suddenly wanted to go to Wuyi Mountain. Then I booked flights and hotels, arranged work, and started a spontaneous trip with my husband . I had been to Wuyi Mountain once before, and I bought a three-day ticket at that time. I felt that three days were not enough, so I planned to play for three days this time. But after arriving at Wuyi Mountain, I heard that the tickets are now free, and I felt like I had made a profit. This time I can play for a few more days . The scenic spots in Wuyi Mountain are very good, and the transportation in the scenic area is also very convenient. The mountain roads are easy to walk, and of course, there are some more adventurous scenic spots. This time I revisited all the scenic spots I had been to last time, discovered some new scenic spots, and ate two vegetarian meals in the temple in the mountain. I stayed in Wuyi Mountain for five days and still didn't have enough . It's worth mentioning that I lived in Wuyi Mountain Villa at the foot of Dawang Peak. Not only is it convenient to go anywhere, but the hotel environment is also particularly great! The hotel's buffet restaurant also offers many local delicacies from Wuyi Mountain, which is an experience I haven't had in many hotels.
Step into Huiyuan
Take a deep breath in Wuyi, feel the invitation of the grass and trees, and experience a journey of oxygen intoxication~
In Wuyi Mountain, every breath is touching,
Entering the scenic area, of course, it is most convenient to live nearby,
Here is a recommended hotel in the scenic area
Recommended hotel:
Wuyi Mountain Villa Hotel--World Boutique Architecture
Address: No. 32 Wuyi Palace Road, Wuyi Mountain City, Fujian Province
Price 300+
1. Location advantage, the hotel is under the Dawang Peak and Manting Peak of the National Park, only 300 meters away from the Wuyi Palace Station in the scenic area, and it can be reached in 3 minutes on foot. It is your best choice for tourism, saving you unnecessary transportation costs and time.
2. Convenient transportation, it only takes 35-40 minutes to drive from Wuyi Mountain North Station and Nanping City Station, and only 20 minutes to drive from the airport.
3. There is also a popular restaurant in Wuyi Mountain in the hotel--Shuilian Restaurant, where you can feel like you are in the Water Curtain Cave while dining, allowing you to eliminate the heat of a summer. There is a poem praising: The flying spring sounds like rain in clear weather, and the ancient trees are shady in summer and winter.

I've climbed Mount Wuyi, and it's truly breathtaking! Keep it up!
The moment I stepped into Mount Wuyi, I was deeply shocked by the scenery before my eyes. The green mountains were like ink paintings, and the clear waters babbled, resembling a flowing scroll of painting, so beautiful that it took my breath away.
I had originally planned to take a bamboo raft and drift leisurely on the Nine Bend River, to feel the tranquility and comfort. However, I was unable to do so, and although there was some regret in my heart, when I decided to take to the mountain paths and climb, that regret was instantly replaced by the magnificence of nature.
I walked along the winding mountain roads, and every step felt like I was walking in poetry and the distance. Green mountains on the side, clear waters accompanying, every breath was fresh air, as if I was in a fairyland.
——————
Touring weather: Sunny day🌞(The water is emerald green)
🅿️Parking: Underground parking garage, ground parking lot with charging stations
🚗Scenic area transportation: Ticket🎫➕Sightseeing car🎫 70💰
Touring by sightseeing car saves more time
——————
🏃🏻♂️My touring route:
Nine Bend River⇒Tianyou Peak⇒Dahongpao Scenic Area⇒Wuyi Palace⇒One-Line-Sky
——————
1⃣️Tianyou Peak: Located in the center of the Mount Wuyi scenic area, it is one of the most famous attractions of Mount Wuyi, and from the top of the peak, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the Nine Bend River.‼️(Must climb, the pavilion halfway up the mountain offers 80% of the beautiful view)
2⃣️Nine Bend River: Take a bamboo raft to drift and enjoy the green water and red mountains along the way, feeling the natural wonders.‼️(Book tickets in advance)
3⃣️Dahongpao Scenic Area: The Dahongpao mother tree, learn about the history and culture of Wuyi rock tea. Taste the local Wuyi rock tea, which has a unique flavor and endless aftertaste.
4⃣️Wuyi Palace: Wuyi Palace is located in front of a stream, backed by beautiful peaks, fertile fields, and cleverly constructed forests. The two osmanthus trees in the courtyard are remnants of the Song Dynasty, with an age of eight to nine hundred years, known as the "King of Osmanthus".
5⃣️One-Line-Sky: The rock walls are towering, with two walls standing opposite each other, and the gap between them only allows one person to pass through. Looking up, the sky seems to be squeezed into a thin line.
Visit Wuyi Mountain and witness the light boats passing through the endless mountain ranges!
Special Forces Two-Day Tour Strategy (with route)
✔️ Took the bamboo raft ✔️ Climbed Tianyou Peak
✔️ Walked the ancient trail of Rock Bone and Fragrant Flowers ✔️ Watched the Impression of Dahongpao
✔️ Saw the sunrise at Baiyun Zen Temple ✔️ Ate Guangbing and Zixi noodles
-
①: Take the high-speed train to Nanping Station, then take bus K1 to the city center. Scan the code when boarding, the whole journey costs ¥10, about 40 minutes.
②: The next morning, head to the south gate of the scenic area and take the sightseeing bus to the bamboo raft pier, about 15min. After getting off the bus, you can buy fish food along the way to feed the fish while on the bamboo raft.
③: After getting off the bamboo raft, take the sightseeing bus to the Tianyou Peak station, the round trip takes about 2h. The actual climbing time on the narrow path is about 30min, or 40min if it's crowded. The altitude is over 400 meters, not very difficult.
④: After descending the mountain, go to Min Flavor Private Kitchen for a meal, then return to the hotel to rest.
⑤: Arrive at the north gate of the scenic area at 16:10, take the sightseeing bus to the Shuilian Cave station and walk for 20min, enter the ancient trail of Rock Bone and Fragrant Flowers at 16:50. The scenery along the way is nice, we took the reverse route, which seemed less crowded. It took 1h, passing by the Mother Tree, to reach the Dahongpao sightseeing bus station.
⑥: Return to the hotel to rest and wash up, as we bought tickets for the last show, there was plenty of time.
⑦: Visit Sanggu Street, ate Guangbing and Zixi noodles, then walked to the performance venue, also visited Impression Jianzhou (quite average).
-
⑧: Get up early the next day to watch the sunrise at Baiyun Zen Temple, it took 30min to climb up, reached the top at five o'clock, vaguely seeing the clouds and morning glow. After descending, head straight back to the hotel to catch up on sleep, then start the return journey.
————————
📍Key TIPS are here!
1️⃣ Bamboo raft tickets should be booked three to four days in advance, July and August are peak seasons, and it's easy to miss out on tickets if you buy on-site, disrupting your itinerary.
2️⃣ Bamboo raft tickets and sightseeing bus tickets are bundled, regular social vehicles are not allowed in the scenic area, and bamboo raft tickets alone need to be purchased on-site at the pier. Considering the first point, it is still recommended to buy in advance. Also, if needed: you can contact customer service by phone to issue an electronic invoice.
3️⃣ Min Flavor Private Kitchen is quite delicious, worth a try, but there are many people queuing up at night, it is close to the south gate of the scenic area, you can go directly out to eat.
4️⃣ It is recommended to reserve more than 3 hours for the total journey of Shuilian Cave + Mother Tree + ancient trail of Rock Bone and Fragrant Flowers. We were worried about missing the sightseeing bus, so we walked fast and did not go to Shuilian Cave.
5️⃣ It is best to buy tickets for Impression Dahongpao one week in advance recently, the seller is raising the price, not recommended.
6️⃣ Although the scenery of Baiyun Zen Temple is beautiful, there is a shaky part of the path where only one or two people can go down at a time, and you have to queue up when there are many people.
7️⃣ We bought tickets for the 7:10 bamboo raft, and they let us check in even half an hour late. It's best to bring an umbrella when on the bamboo raft, the whole journey lasts more than an hour, and the sun is already very strong at eight or nine o'clock.
Compared to the hustle and bustle of big cities, I prefer the tranquility of this top-ranked small town in the country
🚉Travel Guide:
🚅High-speed train: Wuyishan Station/Nanping Station Airport: Wuyishan Airport
Day1: Sangu Resort → Wuyi Palace → Zhizhi An → Song Street → Sangu Old Street
Day2: Yunnvfeng → Tianyou Peak → Huxiao Rock → One-Line-Sky → Jiuqu River Rafting

Wuyi Palace
Located at the foot of Dawang Peak, it's the disembarkation point for bamboo rafting. Inside, there's the "King of Osmanthus" planted by Zhu Xi, and the Song Street inside is a bustling food street for tourists.
Zhizhi An
A serene Taoist temple with beautiful scenery along the way, the mysterious and deep temple gate is atmospheric and great for taking photos 📸
Tianyou Peak
The most worthwhile mountain to climb in Wuyishan. Although not very high, it is a bit steep. The mountain is shrouded in mist and offers a beautiful view overlooking the Jiuqu River, looking like a landscape painting with every shot.
Jiuqu River Bamboo Raft
A must-experience activity in Wuyishan, the stunning scenery of the Ten-Mile Gallery is as beautiful as the Li River in Guilin, with green mountains and waters in full view.
Baiyun Zen Temple
A separate spot that requires a taxi ride, it's also a popular place in Wuyishan to watch the sunrise 🌅 and the sea of clouds. Next to the temple, there are the most photogenic green steps that are very healing and have a cinematic feel.
🍳Wuyishan Food Recommendations:
Yan Wuyi Artisan Min Flavor: A well-regarded local eatery! Their specialty is local dishes with a home-cooked taste, and the secret lotus fish is something I really love, so flavorful and perfect with rice!
Tangyan · Old Wuyishan Local Cuisine: The signature Dahongpao fish 🐟 was amazing when I first tasted it. The aroma of tea leaves adds a richer flavor to the fish, and you can smell the fragrance as soon as it's served.
Xiguan Flavor · Zhu Zi's Family Dishes: The restaurant's environment is awesome! You can enjoy the beautiful scenery while dining. The earth chicken soup and osmanthus lotus seeds are must-orders every time I go, worth revisiting many times.
