这处故居在东堂子胡同西口，进口就是。这胡同东西向机动车单行，没有停车的地方。正好赶上六一儿童节，有几位家长带着小朋友来参观。有位男孩问他妈妈：“为什么蔡元培先生住的房间这么小”；还有一个女孩子问母亲：“这先生是从哪里来的呀？”我有幸与这些小朋友相遇，觉得很是荣幸。特别是听到他们的发问，更觉欣慰。因为他们的家长“过六一”的选择，值得敬佩，同时因为孩子们能够用心关注，也让我刮目相看。正是那句话：少年强则国强。祝愿今天遇到的孩子们，茁壮成长，节日快乐。
