Hong Mountain Review

The first great project of the construction of Lhasa City was to build a majestic, spectacular and solid palace castle on the famous Red Mountain. Songzan Ganbu recruited a large number of stonemasons, blacksmiths, carpenters, and thousands of soldiers and migrant workers from all over the country. He divided the men into four groups, one group to the north of Jixuewotang to open the mountain to collect stones, one group to the south and west of Hongshan to cut down trees, one group to the north to the north to dig mud and soil, the rest of the craftsmen and migrant workers left on the mountain to dig foundations, ridges, build palace castles and palace rooms. The whole red mountain was hot and turned into a huge labor site. After nearly a year of intensive construction, a beautiful palace castle that has never been seen in Tibetan history finally appeared on the top of the red mountain.
