Product details

Visit Tokyo's renowned wagashi workshop, where master confectioners will teach you centuries-old techniques to create exquisite seasonal desserts. Learn about the symbolism, tools, and flavors behind each sweet, and craft your own delicious edible art during this unforgettable cultural experience.

Wagashi: The Exquisite Art of Japanese Traditional Confectionery – Embodies the spirit of Japan and its profound reverence for the changing seasons. Each dessert reflects the fleeting beauty of nature, crafted with masterful techniques that delight both the palate and the eyes.

Unlike Western pastries, wagashi is meant to be consumed ceremonially. Eaten before tea, it plays a supporting role that reflects the Japanese philosophy of humility—much like a samurai's subservience.

These desserts are not just sweets, but expressions of seasonal emotions, meticulously crafted with elegance and restraint. The summer desserts are crystal clear, evoking the coolness of water, while the autumn desserts may bring to mind fallen leaves or ripe fruits.

With endless seasonal combinations, even a lifetime wouldn't be enough to taste the same wagashi twice.

About Craftsmen

We sincerely invite you to join two dessert experts as they delve into the rich culture of Japanese sweets, where they'll teach you how to create your own unique wagashi.

Pastry Chef 1:

World-renowned pastry masters, such as Sadaharu Aoki and Jean-Charles Rochoux, have visited this legendary pastry chef to seek his advice. To provide customers with high-quality products, he insists on purchasing fresh ingredients for the pastry shop every day.

We cordially invite you to visit his shop, explore the philosophy behind wagashi making, and apply this knowledge to create your own unique wagashi.

Pastry Chef 2:

This pastry chef comes from a family with generations of wagashi-making heritage and has been invited to create traditional tea ceremony wagashi for distinguished political figures and state guests, including overseas royal family members.

Although his shop doesn't have a storefront open to the public, this pastry chef has agreed to offer our guests a unique opportunity to visit his pastry studio, allowing them to personally experience the joy of making wagashi.
