Upon arrival, a friendly local driver will greet you at the airport with a welcome sign (please provide your arrival and departure flight numbers). You'll then board a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for a relaxing transfer to the city center, where you'll meet your private guide to begin your guided tour. Below is a suggested itinerary. As this is a private tour, the schedule can be fully customized according to your flight timetable.
The first stop is the Old Town Bazaar, where you can admire unique ancient architecture and experience the lively local market filled with handicrafts, artworks, souvenirs, and food stalls. Take a stroll on the Zigzag Bridge at the heart of the ancient town to capture distinctive moments of Shanghai's rhythm.
Next, continue to the waterfront area of The Bund. Take a leisurely stroll along the Huangpu River and admire the stunning contrast between the ancient and modern skylines on both sides of the city, including the iconic Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the 2,000-foot-tall Shanghai Tower, the "Bottle Opener" Tower, the famous Peace Hotel, the old Customs House, and other historical landmarks.
Then head to the heart of Shanghai—People's Square, and visit the lovely Century Park. On weekends, you'll have the chance to see the lively and fun "wedding market." After leaving the park, take a stroll to Nanjing Road, China's famous commercial street, and savor delicious local street snacks like tangyuan and jianbing, immersing yourself in the city's vibrant energy.
You will continue to the fashionable French Concession, visiting distinctive 1930s-era Shanghai Shikumen old villas to experience the influence of fashion trends. Alternatively, you can choose to ride the Guinness World Record-breaking elevator to the top of Shanghai Tower in Pudong for a 360-degree panoramic view of Shanghai's old and new skylines.
If time permits, you can also visit the century-old Shanghai Jade Buddha Temple to further explore the city's fascinating history. Admire the exquisite jade Buddha from Myanmar, explore the temple's important halls in a serene atmosphere, and learn about the lives and customs of the locals.
If you've already visited the above attractions, you can also explore Xintiandi, Tianzifang, Shanghai History Museum, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Shanghai Poster Art Museum, or Asia Pacific Square Market based on your time and interests.
After the wonderful tour concludes, you will be transferred back to the airport for your connecting flight; if you have booked a hotel in Shanghai, you will be taken to the city center.
