We took this private evening tour and it was simply fantastic. We had the opportunity to see different views of the city, from the lively alleys of the old town filled with street food to the modern skyscrapers of the business district and the iconic Olympic sites. We had dinner at an excellent restaurant very popular among residents, sampling local specialties. Our guide was the very friendly and knowledgeable BBJ- John, who told us many interesting things about the city and its neighborhoods. This tour is definitely worth doing!★

It was a great jorney to history of the Forbidden City. My husband and I are happy having chosen this tour for discovering such an amazing place. Our guide Dan was the best, he is kind, knows a lot of facts about the Forbidden City and poits out the tourists' attention on important things, also his level of English is quite high. Our snowy trip to the Mutianyu Great Wall was absolutely magical. Seeing the Great Wall blanketed in white snow was a breathtaking wow moment—I completely fell in love.
The bus arrived on time, and our tour guide Amelia explained everything clearly on the way, which made us feel prepared and at ease. She also explained the different routes on the wall and gave us the option to choose, which we really appreciated.
The countryside buffet included with our ticket was delicious and comforting—something I would happily choose over Burger King or Subway. We also loved the optional Great Wall certificate as a meaningful keepsake. The cable car ride going up was a bit scary, but the ride down was smooth and enjoyable.
We’re very glad we chose Mutianyu over Badaling. There was a small misunderstanding about an earlier bus departure, but the lady organizer handled it kindly and professionally, personally apologizing and making sure everything went smoothly. The experience was surreal!★

Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall I’m very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps I’m out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also I’m glad Mary’s notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.
