This was truly an unforgettable day trip! The magnificent scenery was breathtaking, from the fun-filled pirate ship ride on Lake Ashi to the geothermal steam of Owakudani, every stop was perfectly timed and well-organized. The tour guide was friendly and helpful, providing rich and engaging explanations that allowed us to learn a great deal while enjoying the beautiful views. Unfortunately, our departure was delayed by more than 45 minutes due to a traffic accident, but thankfully the local guide managed to catch up with the schedule once we were on the road.
Our guide, Peter, deserves a special mention. He’s an excellent storyteller, with strong bilingual skills in both Mandarin and English. His commentary was informative, entertaining, and really brought each stop to life.
That said, the traffic congestion throughout the day caused us to miss out on fully enjoying some key highlights. We couldn’t explore the Red Brick Warehouse since it closed at 7:00 PM, and we were also disappointed to miss the Ramen Museum, which closed at 6:00 PM. By the time we reached Yokohama, most attractions were already shut. Luckily, we still managed to catch the return cable car ride, which was a nice way to wrap up the day.
